Kambaku River Lodge

Die Suiten sind grosszügig und die Lage ist einmalig direkt am Crocodile River. Man kann von der Terrasse Elefanten und Nilpferde beobachten. Wer Ruhe sucht und keinen Massentourismus möchte ist hier gut aufgehoben. Elvis ist ein super Guide und findet im Kruger Park alle big 5.

Nestled between the sugar cane plantations, on the banks of the Crocodile River, just 12 minutes from the Kruger Malalane gate is the stunning Kambaku River Lodge. 5 Star complete package or self catering an option. Attention to detail is what sets this place apart, whether in the room, the dining, the deck overlooking the river and the Kruger park or their magnificent Photographic hide that is fully kitted. Definitely going back.

The lodge is amazing in all aspects. It is situated perfectly on the edge of the Kruger national park’s river border and there are lots of opportunities for wildlife sightings. We stayed for four nights and saw herd of elephants, impalas, and hippos roaming the river banks in front of the lodge. The room was fantastically clean and homely with many facilities like a kitchenette, king bed, bath tub, shower, a private dipping pool, and a hot/ cold water dispenser. There were also many little touches such as a bird feeder directly in front of the porch, a big torch in the room in case you wanted to wander the premises at night, and a bucket of ice which the staff refilled daily. The food was unforgettable - packed breakfasts for safari tours include far more than one can eat (muffin, sandwich, banana, apple, biltong, biscuits, cheese, canned drink, chips); the lunch menu was simply but wholesome; dinner was decadent and served hot. The staff was excellent - Dennis drove us from and to the airport and was our guide for the panorama route; Leanne, the owner, was so forthcoming in sharing her conceptualisation and stories of the lodge; even the service staff were extremely polite and helpful. We had a great time and would definitely love to be back!

Incroyable endroit au milieu de la nature, les familles d’elephants passent devant le lodge en fin d’apres midi. Chambre magnifique, repas et petits dej tres bons servis sur notre terrasse privee. Et le service impecable (nous avons oublie une sacoche dans la chambre que le lodge nous a fait parvenir a Johanesbourg). Safaris prives avec Elvis organise par le lodge. Bref, je conseille vivement cet endroit, surtout pour les amoureux en couple.

We had an unforgettable stay at Kambaku Luxury River House. It was the perfect place to relax with friends, spacious, cosy, and beautifully decorated. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The game drives into Kruger were action-packed, with incredible wildlife sightings, and the food was amazing. Evenings by the pool, with stunning river views, were the ideal way to unwind. The lodge is solar-powered, which is great for sustainability, and the curio shop offers unique items to take home. Kambaku Luxury River House is a perfect mix of adventure, comfort, and eco-friendly luxury. Can’t wait to return!

The lodge was designed to ensure maximum privacy. The rooms are beautifully and well laid out with every amenity you need. Every charming fitting was carefully selected. Loved my monkey chandelier. For me the filtered cold water dispenser was a winner. Got to see 12 hippos grazing next to the river and an egyptian goose tending to her gosslings. At night I heard the hyenas in the Park. The screen doors on the rooms keep out the insects and I did not even have to use the airconditioner. The fan and fresh air accompanied by all the night sounds lulled me to sleep. The fresh food was amazing. They also have a wonderful wine selection. Being able to communicate with my hosts via an App and WhatsApp made for a seamless experience without staff hovering around me unnecessarily. The pool was the perfect temperature. Every night a fire is lit next to your veranda thereby creating an authentic bush experience. The staff were all super efficient and extremely helpful. This lodge is located about 22 minutes from the Malelane Gate making it ideal for a day or few hours visit to the Kruger. I have high quality standards and always appreciate excellence when it crosses my path. Well done to all involved with Kambaku River Lodge - you got the recipe right for an unforgettable experience!
