Stunning Rooftop Experience in Guyana! 🌇🍹 We came for the hotel restaurant but heard about the Horizon Rooftop Bar and decided to go up and it turned out to be the best decision of the night! The view over Queenstown is absolutely breathtaking. With a delicious cocktail in hand and the city lights below, the atmosphere was unforgettable. Just hope you’re not afraid of heights! Even though we didn’t have a reservation, the staff welcomed us warmly. Special shout out to our server, Amin he was polite, friendly, and helpful. I never forget to leave a review when the service is this good! He gave us recommendations, made sure we were comfortable the whole time, and even helped us take some lovely photos. If you're looking for a unique and memorable night out in Guyana, this place is a must. Just a heads-up: the rooftop bar is only open on Fridays, Saturdays,so reservations are highly recommended. 10/10 experience—definitely coming back!

Let’s start with the highlights: The food was exceptional. Every dish we tried showcased bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and creative presentation. The decor and ambience also deserve applause, think modern elegance, perfect for both intimate dinners and lively gatherings. Add to that impeccable service; the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. That said, there are a couple of points to note. While the portions were beautifully plated, they leaned toward the smaller side, which might leave heartier appetites wanting more. The prices, though reflective of the high-quality ingredients and upscale vibe, felt a touch excessive for the quantity offered. Additionally, the bar fell short on our visit, several drinks listed on the menu were unavailable, which was disappointing. Still, these hiccups didn’t overshadow the evening. The Restaurant is clearly striving for excellence, and as a new establishment, it’s understandable they’re still fine-tuning their offerings.

Restaurant dinner review: Grilled chicken was inedible and rubbery, managed to cut a few pieces off but posed a choking and dental risk; worst chicken I have ever tasted in my life. Family member had chicken burger which was dry and also tasteless. Wait staff pleasant and apologetic but damage done.

It was extremely disappointing that my family and I were turned away after choosing to dine here. Our group of thirteen, which included professionals from various parts of the world, was denied entry simply because a father and his baby were wearing shorts — in Guyana, no less. We had heard glowing reviews about this establishment, but our experience was anything but welcoming. It’s truly unfortunate and, quite frankly, shameful. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The evening and breakfast service was chaotic and often shambolic. Waiting staff don’t know the menu, if any is available, forget and confuse orders. The food is ok , small portions. The high prices are simply not justified. 5* prices for 3* quality and service. Breakfast buffet option decreased each day. Not egg station, limited fruit options, yogurt options poor. Rubbery omelettes in the buffet. The manager walks around, not knowing what the problems are otherwise he should be doing something. 40usd for that is an insult. The chef produces adequate food, but quality and quantity are lacking for the high prices being charged. The restaurant only shining light was Minvera, who was trying to plug holes in an ever seeping dam. She was embarrassed by what was served and the chaos of the evening service. The manager was there, did nothing just let the chaos develop each night. Staff seemed to be unclear on what tables they were serving , orders were repeated, food came out cold and wrong. Drinks spilled on the tables. If you ask for the house curry or the fish of the day , the waiting staff have to check with the kitchen. One time , the waitress went off , never came back as she returned to take orders from other tables. Staff coagulate around the bar , often wondering who taken orders from what tables. Unfortunately these events occurred regularly and the management seems inept to rectify the situation.

Review of breakfast restaurant only - Not so good We popped in for the Sunday breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, it closed at 1030am and we arrived at 1031am. So we ordered from the menu. It was a big disappointment. Order came out wrong, and the fruit plate came out halfway through the meal. For $100usd for two, this was ridiculous. On the positive side, the coffee was good.
