A TASTE OF CHINESE CULTURE IN A NATURAL SETTING Perched high on top of a lush green hillside in Lai Chi Kok, Heritage Lodge (a part of Jao Tsung-I Academy) is only a few minutes’ walks from Mei Foo MTR station and easy connections to other popular tourist attractions in Hong Kong. But it could be worlds away from the urban hustle and bustle below in terms of culture and ambiance. Designed with utility in mind, Heritage Lodge is a fusion of local Chinese and Western architectural elements, reflecting Hong Kong’s East-West nature. This heritage cluster, through a sequence of historical events, conveys many stories; in fact, it is the story of Hong Kong. Its various functions in different periods is a convincing testimony of Hong Kong’s changing social landscape over time. While its proximity to modern city life renders it a rare oasis within the city, Jao Tsung-I Academy is also a one-stop cultural hub offering a wide range of events and facilities including The Gallery, Heritage Hall, Theatre, Lecture Hall, conference facilities, exhibition halls, a restaurant and a cafe.
