"We had to extend our stay to three nights as our cruise dates were changed. The manager was so kind and offered us an upgrade. I’m truly grateful for that because the view from our room was amazing. It’s pretty hot during the day, so we stayed indoor during the day and went out later on in the afternoon.
The only downside of the hotel is its distance from downtown Aswan. There are no stores or shops close by, so do plan your meals ahead of time or you can have lunch or dinner at the rooftop of the hotel. The entrance of the hotel is kind of hidden. You need to walk down a set of steep stairs to get into the building, then to a different floor to check in.
The room had everything we needed for the stay. It’s quite spacious and had a fridge, TV and and big closet. There is a bathtub in the bathroom but the shower area doesn’t have a door. The AC works great and kept us nice and cool.
We had breakfast everyday, and the content is pretty similar to all other Egyptian hotels but it’ll keep you full if you finish everything.
If you don’t like the hustle bustle near the center of Aswan and don’t mind the walk or taking cab, this would be a good option for a quiet, peaceful stay with a great view of the Nile."

"The homestay is located next to the Elephant Island Pier, and you can walk there as soon as you get off the boat. The transportation is convenient.
The sanitary conditions are very good, the room is clean and tidy, and there are hair dryers, shower gel and shampoo. There is a small living room on the first floor for rest and tea.
The boss is very nice. He took the initiative to contact us and came to the pier to greet us and help with the luggage. He made fruit tea for us, and on the second night he sent us freshly squeezed mango juice and a bracelet made by his daughter. The English is very good and we can communicate smoothly.
If I come to Aswan again, I will stay here again."

"The design of the room is very beautiful, the design of the hotel is also very beautiful, but the breakfast is very simple (coarse grain pancakes every day), it is cold when I wake up at 8 o'clock in the morning, there are few varieties, and the layout is also rather random. No one cleaned the room on the second night, and no mineral water was provided. Flies came into the room at night when I lived on the first floor, and I was asked to check out at 11 o'clock in the morning. "After seeing so many negative reviews, I booked this hotel with some trepidation. I'd like to say, the hotel wasn't as bad as the negative reviews suggested; on the contrary, it was quite good overall. First, the location: perched on a hilltop next to the Old Falls, offering a commanding view of both the Falls and the Nile. The hotel has two swimming pools: a larger one in the Old Basma and a smaller one at the top of the hill, which is where I booked the Basam Executive Club. The smaller one is quite small, but thankfully, it's high up and offers a great view. Secondly, the rooms seemed renovated, and the furniture and amenities weren't outdated. Upon arrival, I was even upgraded to a suite, which had a large terrace, a living room, a sofa, and a bar. It was spacious and very comfortable for two people. Finally, the service: the staff were very friendly. Although some didn't speak English, they were always willing to help, or call someone who did. They didn't ask for tips for luggage, etc. The room was clean, and they even provided welcome fruit and snacks. Overall, it was a very good experience."

During my trip to Egypt, I stayed at several excellent hotels, including Mena House, Rixos, and Waldorf Astoria, but for me, the rooms here were by far the most impressive. The balcony was incredible, offering breathtaking, panoramic views of the Nile. The entire hotel is simply stunning. The service was also exceptional. The only minor drawback was perhaps the somewhat limited breakfast selection. Otherwise, everything else was perfect!"

JjzycnThis is a very contradictory B&B hotel that I don't know if it is worth recommending. Its shortcomings and advantages are very prominent. It is suitable for Internet celebrities to make photos (the following photos are all original photos without retouching), but it is not suitable for anyone who has certain requirements for ”accommodation” itself. If you can find any cheap + clean + similar scenery alternative hotel, it is recommended to change it, but if it is just for taking pictures and scenery, it may be ranked at the top in Nubian Village.
First of all, you have to be able to tolerate:
1. The hotel price is not cost-effective in the peak season, and the B&B offers the price of a five-star hotel.
2. Poor room facilities, rough-style furniture and narrow rooms, worrying bed sheets, bathroom shower water overflowing and drainage is useless, no slippers, toothbrushes, hair dryers (phone front desk can provide).
3. The breakfast is self-service and extremely simple and unpalatable, unlike some people who commented on the set and inexplicably praised it.
4. Tolerate or pay more to continue to tolerate the complaints of the chartered driver to drive into Nubian Village, and then contact the hotel by yourself in the middle of the night to change to a three-wheeled motorcycle in the deserted and dark mountains for 15 minutes to doubt life and reach the mountaintop hotel.
5. Other prices are very unreasonable. We originally wanted to book dinner for the New Year's Eve party, but it cost 100 US dollars per person...
What did we get here?
1. The balcony of the room can see the unbeatable sunrise on the west bank of the Nile. We witnessed the first light of 2025 here at 6 am.
2. The various poses in the cultural buildings of the Nubian Village are very photogenic.
3. The desert next to the hotel is very photogenic.
4. A very special cultural experience of a group of tourists jumping up and down the mountain in a row of three-wheeled vehicles.
5. The hotel service staff is relatively friendly. Finally, it is explained that Egypt is not a country where tipping is allowed. Carrying luggage is a basic service of any hotel in their country. No one asked for tips during the entire stay.

GGuest UserBooking hotels in Aswan and Luxor was a real struggle. In Luxor, I stayed at a Ctrip Five Diamond hotel. In Aswan, we stayed at this guesthouse in a Nubian village. The surroundings weren't particularly impressive, but overall, the guesthouse was quite good. The thin, dark-skinned receptionist was particularly kind. I had already prepared a tip, but he wasn't supposed to be on duty on our last day. I can only give him a verbal compliment. They provided a welcome drink and a takeaway breakfast early in the morning, which was great, as we'd arranged it in advance. However, it's quite far from the city center, and taxis are not only expensive but also nearly impossible to get.

GGuest UserThe check-in process became a bit unpleasant as their stated policies did not match what was written in our trip.com booking confirmation. This included check-in time and number of guests for the room. We included our children and even had their ages listed in the confirmation. Upon check-in we were told that it was only a room for two adults. We were then instructed to pay extra for one child. Policies should be conveyed clearly when booking so we can know what to expect.
Otherwise, the room had a beautiful view and the kids enjoyed the large pool. The breakfast buffet had a great selection.

Hot shower and the best view but 100% of the credit for our amazing time goes, to helma the manager and his staff especially khalid who was there for everything we needed , Helmy went above and beyond driving us to the sights for less than.a taxi , but the most amazing was. The Nile under our Balcony full of. Feluka boats to take you to ancient temples and delicious waterside cafes and historic islands this hotel might look nothing.but if you want the true Nubian experience of aswanth8s 8s the place for you ,basic breakfast of bread honey eggs and cheese with tomatoes for the price amazing ,, Linda and ivy uk x

Tolip is a chain of five-star hotels in Egypt. Although the decoration style and facilities are relatively old, it is already considered good in the local area. The price is also very cost-effective. There are rooms with Nile views. It is only a one-minute walk away. It is very good.

JJoshDBWIt’s a 2 sided coin with this hotel, some positives and some negatives in all areas. Location is very close to the Nile river and train station which is convenient but the balcony of our hotel room looked out on some garbage tipping sights that were always crazy busy with construction, wild dogs barking, and Islamic prayers blaring from speakers until the early hours. The service at reception was okay depending on who was there at the time and they did organise the trip to Abu Simbel on a day’s notice. The wifi never worked but the room was clean and comfortable enough.
Overall, not bad price for the room - reconsider using if you have trouble sleeping with loud noises or need wifi.

IIvy828The hotel is not as good as expected. There’s no Nile view from our room, located at 2nd floor nor from the restaurant, so we didn’t see Nile from the hotel at all.
The service didn’t make us feel welcomed. The receptionist didn’t say hello or welcome, and looked impatient. When we asked if the hotel has first aid kit, as my husband was scratched by a cat and needed sanitary treatment, the receptionist just directly said “No”, although he promised to check and came back to us, he didn’t…
The room is good but the bathroom is quite old and the AC heat function didn’t work - it’s just around 8 degree during night in Aswan.

GGuest UserThe environment outside the hotel is too bad and there is a lot of people at night. The hotel facilities are old. The hotel does not provide toothbrushes and toothpaste. Almost no one can tear open the shampoo packaged in plastic bags with bare hands without scissors. The shampoo plastic bag is surprisingly strong. The hot water in the room is very limited. If you don't hurry up, After washing within five minutes, you will automatically experience the shower process. The hotel service staff are very good, responsive to all requests, and have a friendly attitude. There are also service staff who can speak Chinese.

GGuest UserWhat you see is what you get, very cute place. The whole village is super cute in dopamine style!  Breakfast is delicious, you can eat on the balcony and the scenery is particularly good, directly see the Nile!  The sister of the homestay also took me to touch the little crocodile for free! Super experience! This small village is especially suitable for hanging out and relaxing for a leisurely day!
