Okay, we have to admit, we were bad travelers and arrived very late. (We had some good excuses, though, like coming across 2 abandoned dogs on the Burren and being directed by our GPS to a ferry that had made its last trip.) We stayed in touch with Bernadette, and she was so very understanding, it was unbelievable. At, like, 11 p.m., (I know, bad form, huh?) she greeted us in a welcoming manner at the door, and not only that, she helped to carry our suitcases up the stairs! Who does that? Our room was spacious, perfectly clean and very comfortable, bed was good, and the decor was super nice. Views from both windows were pastoral and peaceful. We had a sumptuous breakfast served in a delightful sunroom. I adored the dish pattern! We loved everything about this place, but the best thing was its location--perfectly situated between the start of the Dingle Peninsula road and the Ring of Kerry, which were the two areas we wanted to drive in the coming days. Jimmy talked to us at length after breakfast, and gave us some great tips for our day trips. We used all of them. Inch Beach, fish and chips in Dingle, best ocean vistas. He also gave us encouragement to, on the way back, drive the road over the mountains on the Dingle Peninsula, about which were nervous. We did fine, and the views were spectacular. Thanks, Jimmy and Bernie, for a wonderful stay. You two are amazing. We really hope to come back one day! PS. I adored your dish pattern, Bernie. SO sweet and elegant.
