Brookfield B&B Guest House

Lovely room, great location, fabulous breakfast. We stayed for a week and were so well looked after by Lorna - a lovely lady who really looks after her guests. Easy to get to via public transport, perfect spot for walking into the centre via the railway walk. We'll be back.

One of the best B£B’s we have stayed at. We were contacted by Lorna who said we could collect the key early to let ourselves in later. She was extremely welcoming and had a very positive vibe. The room was large with a big king sized bed and a single bed. Every single brand of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, marshmallows, oat milk, you name it. Bed was really comfortable and had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was awesome, we both had the full English and it was huge an obviously quality ingredients, again every thing and more was available, I really didn’t know there were so many flavours of butter! A B&B should be good bed and good breakfast. Brookfield was excellent in both aspects. Lorna is a fantastic host so friendly and welcoming and we hope to return soon.

My partner and I stayed at Brookfield B&B for 5 nights to explore the Lake District and we couldn't have asked for a more welcoming base for our trip. From the moment we arrived, Lorna's hospitality made it feel like we were staying with an old friend - one that happens to have a serious talent for perfectly cooked eggs. Breakfast each morning quickly became a small highlight of our stay: made-to-order, delicious and always served with a smile. The menu is highly customizable with many options available. In addition, Lorna was always available to offer tips, directions and inside advice for our days' plans. Our room was exactly as described with a very comfortable bed and little touches such as a well-stocked coffee/tea service and guides to help plan your day. We left well-fed, well-rested and possibly with a few pounds extra (entirely Lorna's fault - we have no regrets!). Thank you again for welcoming us with such care!

We stayed for three nights to explore Keswick, Windemere, and go up Scafell Pike. The room, the teas/coffees/hot chocolates by the bed, the array of food available for breakfast as well as the menu itself, and Lorna's service was so brilliant. My partner and I felt right at home at the Brookfield, and I will remember it as the first place I ever tried a Horlicks! We will be coming back next time we visit the Lake District! I was recently lucky enough to spend 3 days at Brookfields B&B, Keswick. I was greeted at the door by Lorna who was so welcoming and friendly. My room was the double on the top floor, overlooking Latrigg Fell. Bedding is fresh and the bed itself was very comfortable. The room was always warm. There is a compact en suite in the room too, where wipes, cotton buds, cotton pads, shower gel and lotion are provided. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the room, including a big range of different teas, along with biscuits replenished daily. Breakfast was excellent! You can mix and match from the menu. The local produce is very tasty and my eggs were spot on every day. Lorna also provides an enormous amount of choice in the breakfast room itself - there are plenty of cereals available, including many vegan/gluten free choices. There are yoghurts, raisins, snack bars, fruit, cheeses provided. What I really liked was the miniature jars of jams and HP sauce etc that are displayed; why do they taste better that way? Great coffee too! The location is perfect as you are very central to Keswick but you are not fighting for a parking spot! Parking is in a quiet lane opposite the B&B. To get into Keswick you simply cross over the road, walk around a corner then join the flat Keswick to Threlkeld old railway line walk. This lands you by the leisure centre by Fitz park. The B&B is also really handy for visiting Castlerigg stone circle, you just walk up the lane where you park and follow that lane. You can then walk into Keswick off road; the route is available on Keswick.org website - I think the local robins have cottoned on to the footfall, one followed me for quite some time. That walk brings you out above Derwentwater so it's a great alternative to the railway path route. Latrigg is behind Brookfields and really delivers on views. Just a quick review of The Brookfield guest house at Keswick. Stayed for one night in Feb as a couple with our golden retriever. Easy to find and you can park across the road up a quiet country lane. Lauren welcomed us upon arrival and made us very comfortable showing us to our room and giving us what we needed to know. The room was huge and en suite and even had a sofa ! Literally everything you could need was in the room from tea n coffee to towels and torches...the room was warm and the bedding superb. Breakfast was amazing with cereals, fruits, cheese..full English or whatever you wanted. Took about twenty minutes to walk into Keswick via old railway line but i have a dodgy knee so more reasonably 10 to 15. Definitely go again. Lovely little place.
