Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa

The Hotel Ladore Falls really lived up to our expectations! Beautiful location with gorgeous views over Derwentwater and surrounding hills. Service is second to none and the friendliness of the staff is great. Would thoroughly recommend this great hotel.

We had a weekend stay for a family wedding. Our lakeside balcony room was comfortable and well equipped. The food in the Brasserie was delicious. The spa was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is outstanding. A perfect venue for a wedding.

Lovely spa and clean hotel with lovely views evening food lovely but the worst breakfast we have ever encountered make sure you pick a lake facing view as we had a room at the rear of the hotel which had noisy kitchen fans so kept us awake at night. Please note the hotel does not take cash for oayments

Food,food,food, chef needs to consider ethics. Stayed here for 3 nights and overall the food was disappointing for a 4 star hotel. Worst scenario was when my wife ordered the cauliflower main which should have come with cauliflower purée, koffman fries, dukka and spring onion. The plate arrived with no purée, no dukka or spring onion and included mash potatoes which wasn't on the plate description!!! I pointed this out to the waitress who went back to the chef(we asked not to take the plate with her) she subsequently returned, saying that the purée was "under" the cauliflower which it wasn't and we showed it to the server and the manager who both agreed. They came back with the dukka, spring onion and ...... wait for it..... more mash potatoes and then saying there wasn't any purée. The manager provided a refund of our mains £56 but the issue here is not money it's about the integrity of a chef trying to pull the wool over s customers eyes. In relation to breakfast, there is no point in presenting a plate that is hot when the food is cold, full breakfast was like this as were eggs Benedict. The Benedict hollandaise is obviously from a packet and lacked any texture or taste. Sorry I am just being honest based on our experience. The ribeye was excellent though 👏

First things first. I hate giving a poor review. My frustrations were communicated to the hotel that covered aspects of the room and food. The General Manager reached out to me quickly. I did not ask for any compensation. We only wanted them to benefit from honest feedback. The GM offered me discount on a future stay. I tried to book but 8 months later, despite numerous emails to the GM, Reception and info@ not one of them has given me the common decency of a reply. This hotel promises so much and could be great. I fully understand the difficulties most business face with staff and escalating costs but not replying to an email that is engaging with a gesture that the hotel provoked is inexcusable.

We had been bought a voucher for this hotel as a gift. I was a bit unsure having read a few poor reviews but needn’t have worried. Everything we experienced was first class. The furnishings and decor in the communal areas are beautiful. Our room was modern and spotlessly clean. The spa pool was absolutely fantastic especially as we happened to be there in hot sunny weather . Slightly annoying that we had to pay extra for it but afterwards I felt it was worth every penny. The food in the brasserie was delicious! A very varied and interesting menu. Breakfast was lovely. Every member of staff we came across was welcoming/ friendly and polite. All in all a great few days away. I honestly am shocked this hotel only gets four dots on Tripadvisor 🤷🏻‍♀️ Highly recommended.
