Blue Lagoon Resort - All Inclusive

We have been here over a week now, me and my friend are in the satellite area, while our friends and their two children are based near the supermarket. If you are coming as a group , request rooms in the same location, as it can be quite a walk. You will certainly get your steps in while staying on this resort, though you can get the buggies if you want. The rooms are adequate, though the ones around the adults pool seem to be bigger and have more storage space. They are adequately cleaned each day. The gardens and pool areas are also kept to a high standard. The food and drink are ok, though the inclusive drinks could do with being of a higher quality, the beer is quite weak, you would probably drown internally before you got drunk from it. To pay €5.50 for a small bottle of Mythos is taking the urine, the same could be said of the inclusive cocktails and the premier cocktails. The food is varied, the specialist restaurants are good. However breakfast could do with actually serving PROPER BACON, and not the pressed ham imitation, which is a million miles away from bacon. I realise that cost of food and living expenses have gone up, and the hotel group can’t charge families more , once they have paid . So they have to save money somewhere, and this seems to have been done with the food , in its quality and lack of variation. P.s they don’t have HP SAUCE at breakfast. The entertainment team are excellent, putting on a varied day time program and the evening shows are very good, I don’t know a previous reviewer is coming from, when describing the shows as ‘ burlesque’ absolute rubbish.

It’s our last day here so wanted to give my view. Firstly the resort is huge, much bigger than indicated on Tui website, if you don’t like crowds and a cattle market at dinner times then it won’t be for you. Having said that the public areas are beautiful and extremely clean. The hotel clearly has a massive team of staff which keeps the place spotless and running well. The staff are key to the success of this place, they work so hard and are so friendly, they really are a credit to the place, particularly those at the bars and restaurants. The Primera animation team are also amazing, so friendly and talented. Our boys enjoyed the football, ping pong and basketball sessions. I’ve never seen so many people join aqua gym and pool Zumba sessions. They put on their own evening shows too- an extremely talented group of people. The food was generally very good, always warm and lots and lots of choice. We tried the al a cartes but the majority are still buffets and just a condensed version of what is available at the main buffet. We didn’t enjoy the Italian, the pizza is the same but nicer in the main buffet. We didn’t try the Chinese but the others I would say are just ok. At least they are quieter. Sunbeds are a problem, being such a big resort this is expected and unfortunately the lifeguards are inconsistent with removing towels, they sometimes do it, but regularly we saw people saving 6-8 sunbeds and not turning up until after 9. We are early risers but even being poolside by 7.45 we struggled with beds close to the pool. We had an ok room in block 4000 with 2 bedrooms (for 4 of us). I hope the hotel takes the regular feedback on board, the rooms, bathrooms and particularly the showers need an upgrade. Toiletries do not get replaced and the cleaning isn’t great. For a 5* rating they need to do more to improve rooms and the extras you would expect at a high star hotel. (The constant queue at the crepe station also shows that more choice is needed during the daytime). I don’t think we will be back, it’s just too big for us, but I I cannot thank the staff enough for making this a great and much needed holiday!

Matige ervaring met dit resort. Laat ik beginnen met de positieve punten. Het personeel bij de restaurants en receptie (behalve de manager bij de receptie, als blikken konden doden) waren uitermate vriendelijk. Geen makkelijke taak om in bijna 40 graden lange dagen te maken met maar 3 vrije dagen per maand. Het eten bij de buffet restaurants waren goed. Veel verse groenten, rijst, aardappel, vlees, salade en fruit varianten. Dessert daarentegen was allemaal hetzelfde en een variant op slagroom. Ik heb nooit last gehad van mijn maag of opgeblazenste gevoel bij de buffet restaurants. Volgens mij ben ik zelfs afgevallen in de vakantie zo gezond en vers heb ik gegeten. Uiteraard is er ook voldoende patat pizza en gyros etcetera aanwezig. Wil je binnen in de airco eten maakt dan een reservering bij nisos buffet restaurant naast lobby. Wij hebben een keer gegeten bij het Italiaanse thema restaurant. Dit was een aanfluiting. De thema restaurants kun je verder overslaan. De foto van het eten is hun salade met parmaham en mozzarella hahaha! Ik had ook buikloop daarna. Het bed en beddengoed waren zeer comfortabel, zelfs het kussen was goed. Ik heb heerlijk geslapen! Dan nu de negatieve punten, ik was met andere familie en had een kamer alleen geboekt. Ik kreeg een kamer in het 6000 gebouw, boven de supermarkt waarbij ik het dak van de supermarkt als balkon deelde met vier andere appartementen. De balkon deuren zaten pal naast elkaar, als iemand buiten op het balkon zat keek die dus jouw kamer binnen. Het ergste was. Het was DRIE TRAPPEN oplopen ZONDER LIFT!!! Ik ben geen fit persoon met allerlei gebreken, deze kamer zou met een waarschuwing moeten komen. Het hele resort heeft heel veel trappen, ik zou absoluut willen zeggen dat deze ongeschikt is voor mensen die veel met kinderwagens lopen of minder mobiel zijn. Voor mensen in een rolstoel zou ik het absoluut afraden. Uiteindelijk heb ik behoorlijk stennis geschopt bij de receptie en een andere kamer gekregen in het 1000 gebouw. Deze eenpersoonskamers zat in het souterrain met ook een gedeeld terras, maar hier was meer privacy door afscheiding met groen tussen de kamers. Het soutterrain is een halve trap naar beneden. Maar over deze kamer was ik zeer tevreden. Mocht je een kamer boeken en geen drie trappen willen lopen in 36° dan adviseer ik je een voorkeur aan te geven voor niet meer dan 1 trap of een lift bij de boeking. Aangeven dat je op de eerste verdieping wil zitten helpt niet, want de eerste kamer die ik kreeg zat zogenaamd op de “eerste verdieping” maar omdat deze boven de supermarkt zat, moest ik alsnog drie trappen omhoog omdat ze het souterrain en de supermarkt blijkbaar niet meetellen als verdieping. De schoonmaak van de kamers liet te wensen over. Ik kreeg mijn vermoedens dat het personeel er de P in had dat ik graag uitsliep tot 11 - 12 uur. Of ik schone handdoeken kreeg, was schering en inslag, ik ben vier keer naar de receptie gelopen voor toiletpapier. Meerdere keren werd gewoon een leg
