La Jolla Lookout is perched above a private canyon overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This beautifully maintained mid -century home is at the end of a cul-de-sac within walking distance to UCSD. With driveway parking, the home has the most stunning canyon and ocean views. Please be advised that, under no condition, can you walk or hike into the canyon. It is a protected canyon and entering the canyon will result in immediate eviction without any refund. Entering the canyon also carries a $1000 fine which will be enforced. Entering through the front door you are greeted by a welcoming, very comfortable living room with magnificent views. Enjoy the sofa's, smart TVs and many family games provided. To the left is the dining room with seating for 8 and again spectacular views that dominate the room. The kitchen is fully equipped complete with dishwasher and all the dishes, pots and pans you need to prepare family meals. There are 4 bedrooms in the home, 2 are at the north end and the other 2 down at the south end of the home. The north end has a large bedroom, with views and a queen size bed. The master suite at the north end has a king size bed and those amazing ocean and canyon views. The bathroom at the north end features a tub/shower combo. The 2 bedrooms at the south end of the house both have comprise of queen size beds and both with views. The south end bathroom has a walk in shower. Enjoy the front patio where you can bbq and dine al fresco. There is a washer and dryer and also an outside clothesline for beach attire and towels. La Jolla Lookout has very close proximity to UCSD, Torrey Pines Golf Course, Torrey Pines hiking trails, Scripps Memorial Hospital, MD Anderson, and some of the great shopping malls including UTC and La Jolla Village. Welcome to Sunset Cottage! Tucked away on a quiet little cul-de-sac, this beautiful home sits atop a small hill and offers gorgeous views of La Jolla Shores and the La Jolla Cove. This quiet street allows you to enjoy the beauty of the sand and surf all from the serenity of your private home! When you're ready, just walk a few short blocks to the beach and/or local restaurants and shops...all on flat ground. No hills, except the short driveway, to climb! When you walk into Sunset Cottage, you'll feel like you've stepped back in time....the kitchen cabinets, wood paneling and bathroom tile are all charmingly vintage! That said, all the amenities are brand new. Beautiful 400 thread count, 100% Egyptian Cotton sheets grace every bed with 100% cotton bath towels in each bath. The furniture, including all bedding, is brand new and designed to help you and your friends and family sit back, relax and enjoy each other's company. There is a large dining area with fireplace and extra seating for relaxing meals at home. The dining area opens into the large living room with sectional couch. There is a large, 65" TV to enjoy your favorite shows or movies – or just curl up on the couch and play a board game or enjoy a good book! Inside the house, there are 3 bedrooms - all with older, vintage ensuite bathrooms, AND a separate, detached 1BR studio guest house with a queen bed, walk-in closet and a private vintage bathroom. (PLEASE NOTE: The detached guest studio is only suitable for adults as it is outside near the pool and is not attached to the house.)There are two master suites with California King Beds and brand new bedding. The front suite offers beautiful views of La Jolla Shores from the bed. The second Master Suite also has a California King bed and window seat and ensuite bathroom. The middle bedroom has two queen beds and is great for two teens or four young kids (that don't mind sharing a bed). The separate guest studio is out by the pool and offers in-laws or teenagers a little bit of privacy! All 4.5 bathrooms are older and have vintage pink, yellow and/or blue tile. The shower/tub configuration is a little smaller than many modern bathrooms and requires a step over the side of the tub to get into the shower. The kitchen is well stocked and offers everything you might need to make meals at your home away from home, including; a coffeemaker, microwave, toaster oven and pots and pans. Featuring a built-in banquette, you can sit comfortably while in the kitchen talking to the chef! There is a small desk in the kitchen if you need a place to set up and work! That said, we highly recommend sitting at the dining room table with your laptop as the view is better from in there! There is wonderful space outside by the pool where you are protected from the breeze, but can still look through the house to see the beautiful ocean views! This is a wonderful spot to just sit back and read a book! There are 2 chaise lounge chairs (with umbrella) and a dining table for 4 people. There are also lots of extra chairs for those that just want to sit and enjoy an afternoon glass of wine with family and friends. For most rentals, we have a pool-safe fence around the pool to protect children from falling in. If your rental is for adults only and you would like the fencing removed before your stay, just let us know and we will make sure it is taken down before your arrival. There is a small yard in the front of the house where you can throw a football or just set up some beach chairs and watch the sunset! The laundry room is located just off the kitchen outside the main house next to the garage. There is an ironing board and iron and all laundry supplies available for your use. Once you’ve stayed here once, we’re sure you’ll come back again! Sunset cottage is truly a wonderful place to relax and recharge your batteries. PLEASE NOTE: There is AC in house bedrooms only!
