Firstly, the good points. We stayed for 4 nights, and it was a very comfortable and clean hotel, in a quiet central location. Breakfast was fine. Now the bad. We (like many others) were caught up in the massive power failures in Portugal and Spain. We had to delay our return travel to UK for 2 nights. On the night of the power outage we couldn’t get a room anywhere in the city. On the second night we managed to get a room at the same hotel. Upon return to UK we contacted the hotel to ask for a receipt, so we could claim the cost from the airline. The hotel failed to respond to several emails. I then got a Portuguese friend to call them directly. They told him they had responded to my emails. They also refused to issue a receipt, as we had booked through a third party. Numerous further attempts to contact them were made, and they maintained they had responded, but could not issue a receipt - despite the fact they knew we had stayed there on the night in question. Abysmal customer service, and zero business ethics, from a hotel that made a lot of money from us. They couldn’t care less that we were severely out of pocket. They also lied about replying to my messages - they didn’t respond once. Shame on you and your company.
