Made an accommodation booking for a family friend of 4 adults for 2 rooms & 3 nights.
Total online payment was AUD$895.
By mistake the date selection was incorrect, as the booking was for the same day not 2 months later.
Noticed the error immediately after clicking the confirming booking button.
Immediately called the hotel directly & was told they would allow cancellation & accept a new booking but was told to call the booking agent as their standard procedure.
Booking agent was helpful & tried to contact the hotel directly but the hotel management changed their mind within minutes about the agreed cancellation and their suggested solution of rebooking the stay.
With their eyes wide opened, robbed their customers of the full amount of AUD$895 (consisting of 2 room for 3 nights stay).
Most reputable hotels have a very fair “no-show” policy of forfeiting the 1st night of stay & would normally refund the balance of unused stays.
But not this poor money hungry & $$ starving hotel. They forfeited the full amount without a blink of an eye.
Would not recommend such unreasonable business practices & unethical management to any travellers or families.
Never recommend to supporting a management team with a mentality that they have never in their lives made a small & simple mistake of clicking the button too quickly with minor errors.
