Residence Inn San Diego Oceanside

Rooms were dirty. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. Both sinks had ants. Stains on all the counters, bed frames, tables. White liquid stains on the couch and by the bed. We tried to pull out the cushions from the sofa to use the sofa bed and found a cheeto, quarter and a pair of socks. A dirty towel was left under the sink. And a huge hairball on the carpet. During the evenings, there is only one person is on staff. So when we needed more toilet paper or towels or a hair dryer, that one person at the lobby had to go get it. That’s not safe cause then anyone can enter at night. The only good thing about this hotel is the breakfast buffet is nice. A good variety of breakfast items and friendly staff. But goodness, please take care of your rooms and do a better inspection!

I love staying in hotels that offer kitchenettes and Marriott’s Residence Inn chain doesn’t disappoint. The Residence Inn in Oceanside, California has studio and one bedroom suites with nice kitchens that include a sink, lots of cabinets, a full size refrigerator and a dishwasher (!). The kitchens come equipped with dishes, pots and pans and essential utensils. All you need to bring is your food! We stayed in a studio that had a nice-sized living area with hide a bed sofa, desk and dining table that is open to the king-sized bed and divided by a dresser with a large TV that swivels completely around. Very comfortable for the two of us. This hotel is in Oceanside near the San Luis Rey Mission. We were visiting family in this part of town so it was convenient. If you want to go to the beach it’s a 20 minute drive down Mission Blvd. This part of town has a lot of condos and apartments and corporate office complexes and caters to business travelers during the week. The area is quieter on weekends. Shopping centers are nearby with Target, etc. There are a lot of trees along the sidewalks near the hotel if you want to walk or go running. At the same time it’s not isolated because there’s a ***** of great restaurants right across from the hotel that you can walk to in a couple of minutes. That’s an added bonus. Grandma’s is great for a full breakfast, Felix BBQ is really popular locally and the Junkyard Sports Bar stays open late; it’s a lively place. There’s a popular Pizza takeout, a very good Italian place and a simple Mexican place with a big menu (tip: You have to tell them you want refried beans on or with your meal. They’re not automatic!). Our room was in the quieter back side of the building where the rooms number _23 to _35 (so 123 on the first floor, 223 on second, etc.). That worked out well since there was a loud family reunion at the pool on the other side of the building. We didn’t hear anything. Something to keep in mind if you want quiet. There’s a breakfast room that offers hot and cold choices that you find at most chains. This most recent visit we were a bit disappointed as it was pretty limited. No waffles or pancakes like before (like we really need that, but still) We’ve stayed at this property several times and always find it to be reliable, clean and well-maintained and recommend it as a reasonably priced choice in Oceanside.

We didn’t get much sleep on our first night in CA! There is a tree too close to the building outside our third floor room, the limbs of which rubbed and banged against our windows. The front desk attendant was not empathetic or concerned when we reported it. Also, the complementary breakfast was disappointing - cold hot food and terrible waffles. If you are a family of three, I don’t recommend the Residence Inn, as they don’t have rooms with two beds, unless you get an expensive 2-room suite, only a sofa bed.

This is a great hotel. The rooms are clean and roomy. As is true of all Residence Inns, the rooms have a nice kitchen. The fridges at this location have ice makers, which is super-convenient. Breakfast is good. Parking is free. The fitness center is remarkable more by what it doesn't have than what it does - no mat, no towels, no spin-type bike (there is one physical therapy-type bike), no rowing machine. It does have the typical set of hand weights & cardio machines as well a nice cable-type weights machine. The location is lovely with good views out the windows. It shares a parking lot with around a half dozen restaurants, ranging from a taqueria to sit-down Italian. The staff at the hotel are friendly and efficient. We had housekeeping every day while we were there, which is a treat. Nothing means vacation to me like getting fresh towels & not having to make my own bed!

Visited with family, clean rooms, hot breakfast, & friendly staff! I forgot my cell phone, and an employee named Brian went above and beyond to find it. He even brought it out to our car as we drove up. It doesn’t get better than that for customer VIP SERVICE!! I’d totally recommend!

Clean, comfortable and secluded hotel in Oceanside. Customer service is superb!! Kelly, Mary and Betty made me feel special during my extended stay at the hotel. My only complaint was the breakfast. The food was microwaved breakfast sandwiches which were very unhealthy. Since I had a kitchenette, I was able to cook or grill healthy options. Marriott hotels I've visited in the past had fresh fruits and healthy options for hotel guest.
