Albion House at Ramsgate

I love this hotel. Always have. I've stayed here about ten times over the years. But, I think a bit of care is missing. Staff are not as friendly and warm as before. Common areas, a little careworn. The rooms are very comfortable, however. I'd still recommend this as a good Ramsgate hotel but it's not the best.

I booked one of the top floor harbour view rooms for £140 bed & breakfast just the one night. For that price I expected a larger room, it did appear larger in the photos. No wardrobe, just a hanging space on the wall by the bed. I had to use an external phone number to ring reception, no direct phone line from the room, I requested the iron and ironing board which the website gives the impression your room is already equipped with one. It was a cheap travel iron which leaked a bit, and left a minor stain on the top I ironed. No aircon in the room, but there was a fan provided which was noisy, I had the choice on a very warm night … experience a sauna like room or stay a bit cooler but bothered by the noise of the fan. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were too soft, something that many hotels keep making this same mistake on. I was thirsty in the night, but unfortunately the complimentary bottle of water was warm, carbonated (not still). I would have appreciated a small fridge in the room, and the usual bottle of Still (not carbonated) water. Lastly, annoyingly the bathroom door is fitted with a self closer, meaning the door was always in a closed position, as the room was hot from the day’s sun, I had to wedge the door open to get some cooler air. The staff were friendly and helpful thankfully, and breakfast was decent. I personally wouldn’t stay here again, at £140 a night, although it may be the going rate, The Albion should make some improvements to provide a better customer experience.

Without doubt the best hotel in ramsgate. Staff are superb, champagne is good (add pol Roger please) ,people are excellent (dasha) and they look after me so very well. Didn’t get to do dinner, but breakfast was superb also, and the chefs are on the money. A great escape, and parking for the cool car

We recently stayed here over the busy Easter period on recommendation and indeed felt well and truly looked after. The building has been lovingly restored to create a comfortable and relaxing place to eat drink and sleep Big thanks to Dacia on reception and James and Tara front of house. Lastly a big thank you to all those behind the scenes quietly producing a delicious and varied menu for us and visiting family at dinner

Firstly, this is a stunning venue with incredible ambiance and so much potential. Unfortunately the bar staff are letting it down with less than satisfactory customer service. Miserable, rude and lacking attentiveness to the clients are just a few of the issues at the Albion. My wife recently attended with a friend and ordered mocktails. It quickly transpired that they were served cocktails. This was probably caused by the names of the cocktails and mocktails being identical. Please change the names of your mocktails to avoid confusion. I have visited this venue more than once and experienced the poor service repeatedly and across multiple team members. I have attended both times on a Friday evening (March and April) and both times it was empty. This is undoubtedly due to the rude service being delivered. I hope this review gets the attention of the right person so they can make the necessary changes. I sincerely want the Albion to reach its potential and becoming a thriving local meeting place.

This visit was due to a 50th anniversary gift from our girls. Lovely Hotel, lovely room with balcony and good views of the harbour. A nice and friendly welcome at reception. Comfortable bed, seating on the balcony, good shower over bath. Nice breakfast in the morning before we left to go home. Close to town and harbour. Lovely stay.
