Good central location close to a variety of restaurants and the station. Small, tight car park but permits available for a nearly multi-storey. Rooms comfortable and air conditioning working! But what makes this hotel stand out is the warmth and friendliness of all the staff. They work hard and deserve to succeed.

Great location in the centre of Reading. Clean establishment with friendly, helpful staff. Car parking available at an extra charge (it's tight but manageable in a big car). Does the job perfectly. Only downside-no lifts.

Previously an IBIS hotel but recently opened as a new member of IHG hotels and is fresh but basic. Room was clean but not particularly big for a king. The restaurant serves Indian food and was first class for an evening meal and very good value. Breakfast was booked and s as though not cheap the expectation was driven by stays in other IHG hotels. The breakfast did not live up to expectation and the second morning without any notice being given there was no full English just a poor selection of continental and cereals. Botha morning there were ants marching around the hot drink dispenser and although staff were advised and they cleaned surfaces the ants returned and no further action was taken. There were many ants and one was freshly dispensed into a coffee.

This is a very new hotel, a rebuild inside an old building and was only open a couple of weeks when I went there for a one-nighter on business. Room was not too large, but was as neat and new-smelling as you would expect from a freshly-opened hotel. I would describe it as a Holiday Inn Express but up a bit... Room was well-equipped but plain, which was no problem. Desk for working on a laptop was very cramped, but sufficed. The main sticking point for me was the breakfast. I booked a single for one night on my company....and then separately booked a private-visit two nights with my wife driving down for the weekend. Online I noticed the breakfast was the same for both in terms of costs. When I checked in I was given the chance to add breakfast to my bill, and queried that breakfast for one was £20 - expensive! - but for two, it was.....£20. Understandably after the first night I went out for breakfast, but took it for the next two nights when my wife had arrived. They need to sort that one out. Otherwise, I would have no problem in using the hotel again.

This is an excellent new hotel very conveniently located in the centre of Reading and just a couple of minutes walk from the train station. The hotel staff are very welcoming and the attached restaurant is excellent. Rooms are spacious, clean and modern. I will definitely be back!

Stayed at the Ibis styles hotel over the weekend . On arrival we were greeted very pleasantly with a swift check in . The room was very clean & tidy . The staff were very friendly & polite . The breakfast was delicious. I really recommend this hotel - excellent customer service , good value for money .

Très bonne expérience hôtel bien situé en plein centre près de toutes commodités. Hôtel très propre on y trouve l'essentiel. Personnel très professionnel a l'écoute surtout à la réceptioniste meessryne très gentille, souriante et très serviable. Ce qui était un peu innabituel pour nous d'avoir un petit dej en box mais l'idée était bonne et très utile.

I stayed at the Quality Hotel Reading for 5 nights while attending a trade show in the area. Having read the various mixed reviews I have to say that I was very positively surprised. The hotel is clean and the room as well as bathroom was very nice (see photos). There is the smell of Indian food when you first walk in but there was no smell in the room. The staff is very friendly. The Indian Restaurant serves fantastic food, confirmed by the fact that the place very very busy every night. The only negative experience I had was the Internet. With the ethernet cable connection the connectivity was constantly lost and when trying to log on via wireless I got the message that the MAC address did not match. The hotel is right on downtown Reading and 5 minutes walking distance from the station. There are many stores as well as restaurants close by. I would definitely stay there again.

As a regular user of the ibis hotels in Reading, i was pleased to see that a new ibis styles was opening in the town. I had hoped that this would be one of the many new buildings being constructed, but in fact it is the old Quality hotel, which was itself rooms above tbe Royal tandoori restaurant and which did not get good reviews. I believe it is the same owners who have just changed the hotel branding. Some of the Ibis styles are very good, the one in Edinburgh is lovely, but this is nothing more than a very cheap rebrand with a veneer of modernisation. For example, as I was working at the desk I heard a crash as the full length mirror fell from its mount on the wall! Fortunately I was able to catch it before it smashed against the desk, but it looks like it was secured by only a few strips of double sided tape. For a refurbished hotel, the bathroom was mouldy with a cracked mirror and switches, and the carpet was stained. The breakfast was served in the attached Indian restaurant and was poor - boxes of cereal with a jug of lukewarm milk, mini pastries, one plate of ham, mini-packs of cheese and bread for toasting. For balance, the WiFi was good and I did not smell curry, as others have stated. though I had also been out for one! Will only stay here again if no alternatives.

From the outside it looks decent but it's average at best. Absolutely ridiculous having an Indian Curry house on the ground floor - My room was on the second floor and I could still smell it. Parking, it does have about 8 parking bays. I arrived around half five and all had gone. Good luck. The room itself is only OK. Quite small, TV decent. Bed comfy. Was going to make a cup of tea but water from tap yellow !!! Left to run for a while but didn't clear. The shower was tricky to get to correct temperature. An earth wire on show in bathroom which looks untidy and also looks like towel rail is hanging off. WiFi temperamental. For a hotel named Quality it was anything but. Wouldnt stay again. Parkeren niet makkelijk. Het hotel ligt aan een straat met de bus voor de deur. Het is een oud hotel, gekoppeld aan een restaurant. Verwacht niet te veel. Grappig is dat er veel gebreken zijn te zien, en dan hangt er aan de deur van je kamer een briefje dat je voor schade aansprakelijk wordt gesteld.... Personeel is vriendelijk. Er is geen lift, wel lastig voor senioren maar personeel is behulpzaam met de koffers. Geen koeling in de kamers dus erg gauw benauwd, raam open is soms geen optie met verkeer.

The hotel stinks of curry in corridors and rooms! You'd swear you were in the middle east with the smell and heat of the rooms it makes your feel sick and your clothes smell! The rooms are very dirty and old fashioned needs a complete renovation or just demolish the place. There were stains just everywhere and mold on walls, chairs even ceilings! To be frank the staff don't care and a rude! Stay well clear I wouldn't let my dog stay here!!

The staff were very friendly and the reception looked hopeful. But the room was really bad. Dirty carpet you'd not want to walk on in your bare feet. Toilet had dirty marks inside (lack of cleaning) taps filthy, broken bath plug, dirty bathroom floor, broken window with an old sign on saying it was being sorted!! and so I could go on. I expressed my views when I checked out but never heard any more hence this review. Total lack of cleanliness.

The location is good for the oracle in Reading and the staff were fine, but that is where the good points end. This hotel smells, not just of cooking from the curry house below, but also cigarette smoke, dust and air freshener to try to mask all the other odours. My room was at the front of the hotel and I was kept awake by shouting in the street and buses passing by. The bed was adequately comfy. Breakfast was ok in parts (fresh fruit), but the sausages were of a cheap spongy variety that I've not suffered in years. Breakfast is served in the curry house below the hotel. I can't recommend this hotel because its not really cheap enough to warrant how poor it is.
