We recently stayed at Resort Hotel Plimiri as a group of 12, occupying a range of rooms: a standard double, family double suite, one-bedroom family suite, and a swim-up suite. The only room that genuinely reflected the standards expected from a 5-star resort was the swim-up suite. Everything else was underwhelming at best. A major issue throughout the stay was the sense that if you're not tipping upfront or staying in the most expensive rooms, your experience will be significantly downgraded. Rooms weren't cleaned properly unless brompted with a tip, and the facilities for families with young babies were very poor. Despite emailing in advance, we had to ask repeatedly for bottled water to prepare baby formula. Essentials like irons were missing, hot water was unreliable, and in one of our rooms we found live and dead bugs throughout. The garden was unkempt, and views from the rooms were often blocked by thick concrete bollards. Because the garden was unkept it renered the patio usless because it was teaming with bugs. The mini bar is stocked-but only the first lot is included. Anything else you take is charged, which isn't clearly communicated. Dining and Drinks: The food selection is broad but the quality is poor. Items are often overcooked, left unrefilled, and served without care. Some.of it tasteless. At one point we found broken porcelain in the yoghurt, which staff did nothing about even after was reported. You will be hard pushed to find a cooling ice lolly so you best like scooped ice cream and only 4 flavours. The themed or "specialist" restaurants were identical to the buffet in terms of food -just with table service. Drink options were also disappointing. For those avoiding sugar, there's only water and Pepsi Max/Light. All other drinks are sugary and fizzy (orangeade, lemon soda, 7Up, soda water). There are milkshakes, tea, coffee, and beer on tap, but not much else. When asking for basic drinks like tonic water, bar staff often looked confused. The one bright spot was the lovely bar manager, who was helpful and professional. Shops & Essentials: On-site shops are functional but overpriced. For example, a 27-pack of nappies cost €16! With no nearby alternatives, it's clear the resort knows it can charge whatever it wants. We hired three cars and found a local supermarket on route, where a 57-pack of nappies cost the same and we could also stock up on fruit juice, sugar-free drinks, and snacks for the room. If you're travelling with young children, we strongly recommend bringing all essentials with you. Watersports & Beach: The watersports setup was another letdown. Most activities windsurfing, sailing) require a license, so unless you're qualified, you're limited to a canoe. Motorized water sports are shockingly expensive for a mere 15-minute ride. The beach itself is pebbly, water shoes are a must--but the sea is beautiful: crystal clear and lovely to swim in. The water park lacks safety and security with personal social intera
