Villa Mentone Hotel

Really great location and staff. Went with Friends and the location is really great. Hotel staff and owner (Selma) were really nice and could not do enough. Bed was really comfortable and breakfast was great. Only slightly negatives, were that the room and stairwell areas were a little tired and need a refresh. Bedroom furniture was functional but basic. Will return

Had a lovely three days at Villa Mentone, Salma and her staff went above and beyond. This was our third year of visiting the hotel and it didn't disappoint, we love Shanklin and since finding Villa Mentone it has been our go to hotel for our getaways, Its location on the cliffs means it has beautiful views across the bay and being a few hundred yards from the cliff lift means beach access couldn't be easier, the room was clean and well appointed with a fantastic seaview, it was cleaned daily and coffees etc topped up, breakfast is a buffet with great choices from Full English to Cereals, Juices and Yoghurts and quality branded breads to choose from ( a bit of rareity in hotels these days ). All the staff from the room cleaners, waiters to reception were polite and engaging a credit to the hotel. It was so nice to be greeted by Salma ( the owner ) on arrival we felt like old friends rather than guests, I had been a bit last minute booking but did mention it was a break away for our anniversary..... not only did we get a chocolate cake with a candle at breakfast but also a bottle of chilled Prosecco in our room 10/10 Salma you made us feel very special 😊 We will see you next year keep up the good work and good luck with your new hotel purchase next door! Great location and view. Convenient parking at hotel and in street. Friendly, helpful owner and staff. Ground floor room 2 comfortable and well presented with own balcony/terrace. Communal areas inside and out attractive and well thought out. Comfy and not bland at all. Garden room with billiard table & table football. Good choice of hot and cold breakfast buffet options included in price. Accompanied on Friday morning by a pianist playing a variety of tunes. Dinner available on request at additional cost. Bar drinks and snacks available until 10pm. Nice way to end day, chilling and watching ships on horizon. Variety of guests staying. Relaxed atmosphere. 1/2 price ferry via hotel.
