I came with my daughters (6 and 4) and we are still glowing from our stay. Magical doesn’t even begin to describe it. The hotel staff all went above and beyond to make my daughters feel like real princesses, from little details like standing up when the “princesses” entered the room and setting up our room with so many toys, to bigger things like helping me hide little gifts and clues all over the hotel for their birthday scavenger hunt. I’ve stayed at many luxury hotels but this one is truly a cut above the rest in every way. First, the private tours of Versailles are worth the price of the rooms alone. Nothing can describe the surreal majesty of dancing down the hall of mirrors alone with your kids. Driving around the gardens in the golf cart was also really fun and makes seeing the garden with small children such a breeze. We skipped the dinner service (3 hours is quite a lot for small kids) but they gave us the private room for dinner and breakfast which was so kind. And they gave us the world’s best hotel room upgrade which we will be forever shocked and grateful for - there are not enough words for how special this stay was for us! Just beware, there are so many macarons and treats on every table surface and every corner, your kids will be on a sugar high the whole time

We stayed two nights at Airelles Chateau de Versailles. Our magical time there was memorable. We stayed in the L’Orangerie our first night. The room is spacious and the patio was wonderful. Our second night we stayed in the Necker Suite. It is what dreams are made of. Blessed to have had the opportunity to stay in such a stunning suite. The staff here, without exception, were gracious, professional and kind. The overall experience at this property is so spectacular, we are planning our next trip. Without giving away too much, we were amazed with so many things they offer. Each day, from morning to night, we just looked at each other and smiled. Thank you to every staff member for your hard work and kindness.

You have to go once in your life to see this. It's a bucket list place. Super crowded, at least when we visited in mid-August. Everyone in Paris was out of town, but all the tourists were there in Versailles. You can skip the crowds at the start by purchasing the Private Tour of the King's bedroom, and you'll see a bunch of stuff in a small group tour that no one else gets to see. The tour lets out inside the main tourist part of Versailles, so then you can see all the stuff everyone else sees. The grounds are ridiculously large, and walking them is a chore, but you should try anyway. If you're made of money, the real way to do this might be by staying in the hotel that's on site. If I ever go back, that might be worth looking into. Apparently it costs thousands, but then you have the run of the place when no one else is there. But you have to go see this place, even if you have to brave the crowds. It's just that special.

First a shout out to our butler Charles for making my family’s experience a wonderful one. A stay at this hotel is a once in a lifetime experience. This hotel adjoins the palace of Versailles and used to be the abode of the finance minister. The private tours alone make a stay at the hotel worthwhile. It is a dream to be able to visit the hall of mirrors without throngs of visitors. Even though the clientele seems to be mostly couples, the hotel bent over backwards to cater to my young children. The tours can be tiring for children, but my six and eight year old enjoyed the golf carts in the gardens, the row boats and picnic by the grand canal. The older one loved horse back riding while my six year old had fun at the beautiful indoor pool with toys the hotel gave her. The children loved the doll house and stuffed animals in their rooms. The hotel itself is beautiful. The stay was idyllic. If you can swing it visit it. Only caveat, don’t do the royal feast if you have time to visit other restaurants around. Not that it’s bad, there are just better food. The hotel is not immediately kid intuitive, like beautiful glass ware is breakable and kids don’t need a tasting menu. However small things like this were easily modified. This is a once in a life time experience highly recommend

I would’ve loved ending my trip in Versailles instead of Paris! The stay was beyond amazing; I would rate it 100/10! After that, we visited the Mandarin Oriental, and let me tell you, the service was outstanding there but it was no airelles ! The beds, pillows, and views were simply breathtaking. Sleeping was like sleeping on cloud 9. The concierge letiesha took care of planning our itinerary, so I didn't have to worry about a thing! From the tours to the dinners, everything was perfect. And every night, we were surprised with a special gift on our bed from pajamas to special treats and tea! Even our departure was handled with such care! Letiesha was amazing. Let me tell you, this was luxury at its finest... I usually could find at least one thing off... But not this time... This is for my girls: when doing the palace tour, wear comfortable shoes...!

My family had a truly magical visit to Airelles Chateau de Versailles. It was one of the most extraordinary experiences we have ever had and far exceeded our expectations in every way. Our stay began with a wonderfully warm and welcoming arrival to this breathtakingly beautiful hotel. Each member of staff we encountered was kind and helpful. Every tiny detail of every room is exquisitely appointed to completely transport the guest to the time of Marie Antoinette and immerse you in this world. We then immensely enjoyed being able to take one of the hotel's golf carts and spend a lovely few hours exploring so much more of the gardens of Versailles than we ever would have been able to do on foot. As history enthusiasts, we were greatly looking forward to the private evening and morning tours, and they were spectacular. The guides were fascinating, and being able to walk the quiet grounds of Versailles at sunset and stroll through the palace and empty Hall of Mirrors was a magnificent experience without equal. Every meal we had at the hotel was extremely special as well. The delightful afternoon tea, light dinner and breakfast were all simply superb. The food was lavish and delicious, and the presentation was stunning. Every piece of china was a work of art and the ambience of the two dining rooms and garden we dined in were enchanting. We were also very appreciative that the staff took so much effort to have excellent vegetarian options for our son at every meal. We must also mention how incredibly grateful we are to Pauline and Jonas for their kindness and for going above and beyond to make every wish and dream we had for our visit come true. Our stay at Airelles Chateau de Versailles was an absolute joy and we cannot wait to return.

Airelles Le Grand Contrôle is an exceptional retreat that masterfully blends 18th-century grandeur with impeccable modern luxury. Nestled within the Château de Versailles grounds, this jewel offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience with exclusive after-hours palace tours—including the iconic Hall of Mirrors—and personalized service. With only 13 rooms, it often feels like there are more staff than guests—every interaction marked by an extraordinary attention to detail that elevates the experience to what I can only describe as six-star hospitality. The rooms are exquisitely decorated in period style while still offering modern comforts. Dining is an absolute highlight—dinner at the Alain Ducasse restaurant was unforgettable, with each course a work of art. Afternoon tea was equally indulgent, served with elegance and charm. The serene spa, complete with sweeping views of the Orangerie, provided the perfect retreat after exploring the palace grounds. Yes, it’s a splurge—rates start at €3,000 per night—but for a once-in-a-lifetime stay, especially with the private after-hours access to Versailles, it’s worth every centime. This is more than a hotel—it’s an immersion into history, luxury, and world-class service. Unforgettable in every way.

This was one of the most special experiences we've ever had at a hotel. It's really not just a hotel (but it is an exquisite one), but a historic property with unparalleled exclusive access to the Chateau and the gardens, with private tours before and after regular hours so you can experience and learn about the history without ANY crowds. The team went above and beyond, particularly Dominque, Huge and Quentin. It's a bucket-list splurge type hotel but it was worth it.

This is an amazing experience, particularly for history nerds like me. The opportunity to have access to knowledgeable guides in the empty palace was stupendous. We adored being able to explore further (than if walking) in our golf cart and electric boat. It was so atmospheric knowing we were in a restored 17thC building, with staff in costume, dinner by candlelight only, and menu inspiration from the days of Louis XIV. Couldn't believe the teenager ate smoked eel pie!! If you have the means then this is definitely recommended. My only regret was I didn't realise a visit to the Queen's theatre and hamlet was not part of the tours, and I didn't leave enough time to go their in my golf cart - now I have to go back!! My highlight - all the little details relating to the life of Marie-Antoinette, including her personal porcelain ware. My teenager's highlight - the gougere offered in the evenings (they were fabulous), and the challenge she set herself about how many macarons she could eat (11 in 48 hours). My friend's highlight - routine glasses of champagne for breakfast!!
