Historical Guest House

The Historical Guest House (aka the "Sam McGee House") in the heart of Whitehorse is really a little gem. The beautiful garden alone is worth the stay. We will always stay here when visiting our family in Whitehorse. The Guest House is within easy walking distance of everything to see and do in downtown Whitehorse. Hosts Bernie and Pam Phillips are incredibly gracious, genial, and friendly. So are their dogs Lucy and Prince Harry! The upper rooms in the old building offer vintage decor, but we prefer the modern "Cyr Suite" that occupies the entire basement with a full kitchen and two queen beds. Be sure to look around the Cyr Suite and open all the cabinets and drawers to find every possible amenity tucked away like Easter Eggs for guests! Book early (January) for reservations in the summer. Bring slippers for the chilly basement floors!

We really enjoyed our stay in the Cyr Suite. It's quite spacious with the convenience of a kitchen. The furnishings are a little dated but everything worked well. You can't beat the location! Highly recommend.

Annorlunda boende. Annorlunda boende. Tyst område fast nära till allting. Rummen (2st) finns på andra våningen medan badrummen ligger på första, varför det kan störa om man behöver använda det på natten då det gamla huset har knarrande golv och trappa. Rummet har inget lås, endast en hake på insidan. Ytterdörren har lås men är beroende av att bägge rumsgästerna låser när de går ut. Noggrann sopsortering. Skön Ikea säng. Kyl och frys och alla möjligheter att laga egen mat.

Such a quaint please. It felt very private and relaxing.
