Good, clean, polite

Way better than expected It was my first trip to somewhere I knew nothing about. I was en route north and needed to break my journey. Arrived at 2am to be met by the night receptionist who acted as though it was 11am. Charming, helpful and on the ball I regret not asking his name. I was expecting someone held asleep and looking like it; the reality was very pleasantly different. The room was immaculate with everything I needed and the bed comfortable. Bathroom spotless and even zYorkshire teabags! Does it get any better. I slept like a log and left without breakfast which I regretted because it smelled good. Well done everyone involved in making my stay so good. I will be back.

An ok overnight stay nothing special What a really weird resort, not helped by the baron landscape. The Waterfront restaurant was nice, but such a shame that tbe lake has 2 massive electricity pylons going across it. The Woodlands event centre seemed to be being run by some very young staff. They were very kind and helpful but lacked knowledge and leadership. I would give it a 7 out of 10. Not enough food or staff at breakfast.

A great and friendly oasis I arrived late by arrangement and had a little difficulty finding the place at 1 am. The night manager was brilliant and welcoming - a trait I’ve encountered both times I’ve checked in late. Room amazing, spotless and comfortable with brew facilities. Well done all!

Whist check in is at 3 we needed to drop off our bags to attend a wedding an hour or so earlier. There was a room available but we would have had to pay £25 for early check in. Seemed an inflexible approach. The room was good, clean and comfortable. Good value for money. Breakfast was disappointing and definitely not good value for money. Uninspiring cold display. It was hard to put a complete cooked breakfast on a plate as items were continually missing so had to wait for the items to come out of the kitchen. You had to decide to eat it hot with what was there or eat it cold while waiting for items. Seemed to be a lack of staff. However, we appreciated what we did eat was freshly cooked rather than having sat on the hot trays for a long time. Paper cups for hot drinks, I think, is unacceptable when breakfast costs £18pp. I would stay at the hotel again if needed but would not opt for breakfast.

Was moved to lower standard property Willows Training Centre due to low occupancy at Woodlands Event Centre, so didn't get to actually stay here. Weren't going to reimburse difference in room rate, but gave me upgraded room when I complained. Staff all friendly, obviously trying hard to be eco friendly.

The Event Centre was not open when we arrived. It took a while to find out that we had been transferred to the Waterfront Hotel. It would have been helpful to have been informed of this change in advance. That being said, delightful staff on reception, lovely room, great to have access to 1Life included.

The shower wasn't working properly. The water was red hot and there were no instructions on how to turn the temperature down. There were only 4 tiny milk sachets. We had to ask for more. Not exactly expensive to provide more in the room.

As described in a rural setting. Surprised at calm modern interior- very welcoming- thou the reception area could be improved. Pete the gentleman upon our arrival close to midnight was wonderful. the room it was very clean - as were the corridors when you walked through. Only minus was we didn’t have AC in the room, thou they’re thoughtful enough to place an oscillating fan for you. The bed was comfortable and slept through the night with noise- apart from the usual morning exiters!!! Would come again. Loved the interior and furniture- got some nice selfies! Can’t comment on breakfast as didn’t wake up early enough …

The rooms are basic but have nice shower rooms. The double beds are set up with 2 single mattresses which makes sleeping very uncomfortable due to the large gap down the middle. I liked that they have signs on the room saying they are committed to recycling but then at lunch you’re given hard to recycle cartons rather than plates. Add in the milk in the room was 2 months out of date and I wasn’t impressed

I stayed here with over a hundred colleagues as part of a national annual conference. It was convenient having a room in the same building as the conference rooms as I did not have far to go at the end of a long day. There are a number conference rooms of varying sizes which was useful for break out areas/ smaller meetings. The phone signal and general connectivity is terrible and really let the venue down. Our plenary sessions were disrupted by videos that could not be played, poor audio and trying to make a phone call was very difficult. This really needs to be sorted. My room was basic but not very clean. There was a long hair in the shower, sticky bathroom floor with some suspicious looking stains. I asked for this to be cleaned on my way to dinner, returned to find it was exactly the same. All our rooms were single occupancy but the single beds had not been put together to make a double for more comfort, unsure why and when I requested this, it still was not done. The ventilation is poor, the smoke alarm went off as I dried my hair with the blow dryer. Staff turned up promptly to investigate and I overheard them say it was likely a shower that had triggered the alarm which suggests a known problem. As a mother reviewer mentioned the shower pressure is non existent, it was like trying to have a shower with. cup of water. The food offerings were poor and I was pleased to return home to my own bed after two nights. Next time I might be better off staying at the nearby Premier inn where some colleagues stayed.
