Waggon and Horses

優點：很有特色的B&B,，早餐提供了價值接近四分之一房費的食物，非常豐盛，自選餐點也比較多。樓下是店主自己的bar，晚上相對熱鬧但是在樓上聽不到。 缺點：二樓臨街的房間晚上能聽到下面馬路上車開過的聲音。獨立衞生間裏的窗上半部分是開着通風的，所以得關上衞生間的門才能稍微有點隔音。另一個朝向的房間應該會好些。天花板上有一盞常亮的綠燈不知道是什麼作用反正關不掉。還好因為白天暴走太累睡著了。睡眠差的人慎選。 另外下午3點之前正門不開，上午不能保證有工作人員在，所以最好不要指望提前到達和寄存行李。

I arrived at York and took a steady walk to the Waggon and Horses, I could easily have got a bus or an Uber but it was a pleasant walk and got to see some of the sights! The location is just outside the city walls south of the city with easy access to everything York has to offer ! On arrival at the Waggon I was greeted friendly and warm and was delighted to see a good range of well kept real ales. My room was spotless clean nice and warm and had everything I needed. The Breakfast next morning was beautiful quality ingredients cooked perfectly!! This is now in my favourites list and I will return !

We booked for a night away to do the Christmas market etc. We arrived early and as the pub doesn't open whilst 3pm parked in the small carpark at the rear and walked the 10 minutes into York. Check-in was easy on our return, our room and bed was huge and comfortable though the ensuite was small with nowhere to put toiletries. There was good quality tea/coffee/biscuits and bottled water provided. The pub itself is a friendly local with very reasonable priced drinks but they didn't do evening meals. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choice and was fresh and hot, in fact it was so big it beat us! Now the reason for the lower rating unfortunately we didn't get much sleep at all. We were in room 4 at the front of the pub and the traffic noise was constant, also it was a windy night and the window was literally banging & rattling all night. I understand it's an old pub with old features and windows but it would really benefit from secondary glazing. Also the blackout curtains left a lot of gaps so there was a lot of light coming in from the pub light then general street lights. It's a shame as everything else was really good but it did spoil our stay.
