This hotel located outside of the train station. Was a bit tricky to locate when we first arrived. Makesure to follow signboard going towards ‘Hachijo’. Once we got into the hotel, everything was smooth. Self check in but there is a staff guiding. Shower was great. Room spacious. Location is so convenient, easy to get taxi. I love this hotel !

Overall, I really liked the hotel! The location is super convenient — close to everywhere we wanted to go. The room was clean and the design was minimal but stylish, which I really loved. They also have a relaxing bath house, which was a nice bonus. One of my favorite things was that the TV in the room could connect directly to my phone — so convenient! However, there was one issue. My friend lost a necklace, and it felt like the staff didn’t communicate well with each other. It seemed like no proper report or message was passed on, because every time we asked, we had to explain everything from the beginning. That was a bit frustrating. I really hope the necklace is found — please contact us as soon as possible if it is! That’s all from me. Overall, still a good stay!

Hotel location very good, have many nice cafe restaurant nearby. Walking distance to many sceneries Some staff is friendly at the front desk Room size too small to walk around Ask for additional blanket for few times but the reply is not available. Went to Front Desk the next day, told duty staff that I would like to see the duty manager, staff asked what is it regarding, told them that I need a additional blanket, staff replied that they will try their best. And continue busy with their work. Have 2 cabinet but can only hang 2 pcs of jacket each. Breakfast buffet dishes should have 40% change daily for 3 cycles Limited bakeries, cheeses and hot dishes

Booked Mitsui Garden as a last minute one night stay as my initial hotel has some water issues, resulting no water for shower and toileting needs. Nonetheless Mitsui is a pleasant surprise. Location is right next to Kyoto station with lots of food, shopping options. Amenities were great too. Room is of a great size with a small coin laundry room. It is such a great pity that I found out about Mitsui only on my last day of stay. Will be my choice stay the next time I visit Kyoto.

The room is clean The staff is really helpful. But it's hard to wait for the laundry because many people using it. And it takes some minutes to go back to the louder streets. But it's fine if you get used to it and know the directions. For transport, this hotel is closer to two different subways. It should be easy to travel to places like arashiyama or somewhere further. The price is also really affordable, good price for center of kyoto.

I brought my family to Japan for the Spring Festival and stayed there for 5 consecutive days. The room was very comfortable and clean, and transportation, shopping and travel were very convenient. The landlord was very enthusiastic and contacted us in advance about the check-in. He also gave us travel guides and exquisite gifts. It was a very pleasant accommodation experience.

GGuest UserVery polite and helpful staff. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The breakfast was ok and they offered both japanese and continental options. The standard rooms on the 2nd floor had no view as there was a large wall in front of the window so i would definitely not recommend this option. The premium rooms are on higher floors and offer better view, if that is what you are going after. Overall it was a comfortable and clean place to stay for a few nights

AAhmet ZekiDear Sir/Madam, I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard. However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements: 1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue. 2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition. 3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated. 5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space. 6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering. In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction. If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards. Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. GGuest UserStayed for 4 nights. Plus Points: 1. Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff in particular  Mitsukawa 2. Good size TWIN room with washer dryer machine, kettle, microwave and possibility to partially open the window. 3.  Very Near to the metro, Tram, 24 hr convenient stores and main touristic places. 4. Of note:  McDonald's next to metro  (in the event you want to eat breakfast). 5.  Self-served Coffee machines from 6am -  11pm. Ice water & ice cubes dispensing machine.  Minus Points: 1.  Poor unhygienic room service policy:  Room only cleaned and bed linen change only when guests stay  7 nights, despite the fact that guests are paying the same daily rate.   Otherwise guests are charged.  No good reasons that at the very least this rule is not  apply for the  first 2 nights.  This was strange given the Japanese are perceived to be very cleaned people  (which I totally agree with). In some hotels you are encouraged to not walk around with shoes in the rooms.   On the other hand they can  - as with many hotels -  let the guests decide whether or not they want their rooms to be serviced daily.   However, the concierge agreed to give us the bed linen when told we would change them ourselves .    !    Bins are emptied and towels are changed every day ONLY if requested.   2.  Bed could be firmer. 3.   Unlike other Japanese hotels we have stayed, we found the breakfast was too Japanese in content:  mainly 'same' typical Japanese menu with cold dishes and even the couple of supposedly bit dishes were tepid.   Not a great choice of bread and fruits. In short  the choice of menu was not even as good as  another Tokyu Stay Hoteks in Tokyo where we also stayed.  It seemed to the same theme of breakfast for the Tokyu Stay groups.  We decided to go to McDonald's for breakfast on our 3rd night and on our 4th night we left very esrky  for our flight and did not miss not having breakfast.   In short,  we travel a lot and we would be willing to visit this hotel again if we cannot find something else  but will not include breakfast in our booking as other guests did .  And it certainly would not be for more than one night.

AAnonymous UserFantastic stay at VIA INN PRIME KYOTOEKI HACHIJOGUCHI! The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from Kyoto Station, which made getting around super easy. One major plus was the 7-Eleven directly connected to the hotel, which was so convenient for grabbing snacks, drinks, or even a quick breakfast. The room was clean and well-equipped, and the staff were polite and efficient. A perfect base for exploring Kyoto!

PPoohWe were arrived early before the check-in time, thanks to a young man allowed us to check-in. My room just directly faced in fron of Kyoto station. The hotel room facilities are new. And the room soundproof is awesome. QUIET & PEACE. The past few days, we were able to sleep tight. The area is very convenience as surrounding all restaurants, cafes, AEON mall, Babies Toy er ous , Isetan & Kyoto towel. Kyoto station is enormous! Anyway, some areas are dirty.

LLyndaThis is not a hotel of three stars. It is a HOSTEL.  I stayed here after I extended my stay by a night in Kyoto and everything was full - at least those with  reasonable prices.  It was a single room with shared bathroom. It was a mixed floor with separate toilets for men and women. The showers were only on the 2nd floor.  Hotel/sleeping wear was available for free but I changed the first top as it smelt unwashed. I made my own bed after taking the little table off the raised dias and sliding it under the bed so you need to be active!. There is a mirror with a small ledge under it.  No rubbish bin as you are asked to take it out of the room to the communal bins on the  floor.  The whole place is fairly new and very clean, and location is great.  There are a couple of vending and laundry machines  along with large canisters of hot water and a microwave.  Breakfast is two doors down in the cafe which was ok. It is run by Sotetsu chain but should be classed as a hostel not hotel. You can leave luggage early before checkin or after checkout for a few hours. The staff at reception were helpful but it certainly isn’t a hotel. Most hostel’s have a place to prepare your own food not just a microwave. Not value for money IMHO.

PPui SheungThe hotel is located near the Kyoto Station. The room size is larger than many hotels in Japan. The hotel provide free dessert and drinks after lunch hour, some snacks with beer or wine after 6pm. The breakfast is delicious and had lots of choice. During my stay, the hotel provide materials for making a tatami coaster. It is worth to stay in this hotel. I will choose this again when I come back to Kyoto.

SSvetlanaA huge and comfortable room. Everything is clean and fancy. But it seems like far from Japanese experience. Rooftop bar is awful: very slow service, the food is untasty and very expensive dor such bad experience. Also we left more tips as we supposed to do. I would say it was the worse place to have dinner in Kyoto. We did not like breakfast with the eggs part. You have to order eggs and than you can additionally choose some food additionally as a buffet. Eggs were with a lot of sauce and mayonnaise. It was strange. I would recommend to stay here without breakfast and do not try to spend time on the rooftop.
