The Langham, Xintiandi, Chengdu 📍 A Tranquil Oasis Next to City Landmarks In Chengdu, one of my favorite hotels is The Langham, Xintiandi. It's nestled in the heart of the city, close to bustling areas like Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li, yet it feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle. That day, I dragged my luggage from the subway station, walked along a quiet path, and entered the hotel, as if I had been transported from the noisy city to a peaceful haven. The hotel's entrance is cleverly designed, resembling a small courtyard filled with lush greenery and the gentle sound of flowing water, instantly making me feel relaxed. 🌟 Surprises in the Lobby Upon entering, the lobby's design immediately captivated me. The space is expansive, with soft lighting, creating a luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere. The friendly staff at the front desk efficiently checked me in and offered me a warm cup of tea, suggesting I take a moment to relax. I looked around and discovered some stylish corners in the lobby, such as a small reading area stocked with various books and a small bar where I could order a coffee and enjoy it on the sofa. I immediately thought how pleasant it would be to spend more time there. 🛌 Thoughtful Touches in the Room My room was the biggest surprise of my stay. As soon as I opened the door, I was greeted by a huge floor-to-ceiling window showcasing Chengdu's dazzling nightscape. The room's decor is exquisite, with every detail showing careful consideration. The bed is incredibly comfortable, with a mattress that's just the right firmness, promising a good night's sleep. What impressed me most were the thoughtful touches, like the high-end brand toiletries, including fragrant soap and hand cream, provided in the bathroom. The minibar was also well-stocked with a variety of items at reasonable prices. That evening, I enjoyed a bath in my room, listening to the wind outside, feeling completely rejuvenated. 🍽 A Culinary Journey in the Restaurant The hotel's restaurant is another favorite of mine. The breakfast buffet is incredibly generous, offering a mix of Chinese porridge, dim sum, and Western bread and eggs, all beautifully prepared. My favorite was their freshly baked bread – crispy on the outside and soft on the inside – paired perfectly with a cup of hot coffee, it was an ideal start to the day. Besides breakfast, the restaurant also serves dinner and afternoon tea. That afternoon, I ordered an afternoon tea set and sat by the window, enjoying the street view and the delicate pastries, feeling time slow down. 🌿 Exploring Hidden Gems Nearby Staying here provides easy access to many interesting places. The hotel is close to a unique cultural and creative street, where I discovered various independent shops selling handicrafts, vintage accessories, and numerous small cafes. I even bought a small pendant at one of the shops as a souvenir. A few minutes' walk from the hotel is a park with shady trees, perfect for a stroll. I went there every day to enjoy the fresh air. 📝 Tips for Your Stay When checking in, remember to communicate your needs to the hotel in advance, such as whether you need an extra bed or a late check-out. The hotel staff is very accommodating and will likely be able to fulfill your requests. The hotel's gym and pool are also excellent; if you have time, give them a try.
