||| When visiting Guangxi, don't just think of Guilin. The less crowded yet stunningly beautiful Chongzuo and Baise areas are truly Guangxi's scenic highlights. During our trip, we saw forests, canyons, caves, waterfalls, lakes, and rice fields. We rafted on bamboo boats, sipped coffee amidst rice paddies, and even experienced Vietnamese exotic charm. . The entire itinerary was relaxing and leisurely. The attractions along this route are all relatively small and off-the-beaten-path. Even during Dragon Boat Festival, there weren't many tourists. Visiting two spots per day made for a wonderfully comfortable pace. The high-speed train from Foshan to Nanning takes just 3 hours. Our complete guide is ready - save it for your trip! . 🎒 Here's our itinerary: 👉Day 1 Arrive in Nanning at noon - Half-day Nanning tour (see my previous Nanning Citywalk guide) 👉Day 2 Nanning - Tongling Grand Canyon (3h drive) - E'Quan - Jingxi City 👉Day 3 Jingxi City - Detian Waterfall - Dongnayu Bay - Mingshi Pastoral 👉Day 4 Mingshi Pastoral cycling - Nanning - Return trip . 🍃 Tongling Grand Canyon Hike through primeval forests, cross underground rivers to see thousand-year-old caves, and witness the 188-meter Tongling Waterfall cascading down! Known as the real-life Jurassic Park. 🍃 Detian Transnational Waterfall Asia's largest transnational waterfall, half in China, half in Vietnam (Vietnamese on the left, Chinese on the right 😂). The boats meet in the middle. Don't miss the Detian Waterfall Rice Field Coffee - great for photos. Their signature rice milk coffee is decent. The bamboo raft ride takes you right into the waterfall's mist - absolutely breathtaking up close! 🍃 E'Quan Called "Little Guilin", but I think it's prettier! Crystal-clear water reveals aquatic plants below, surrounded by karst mountains. Best of all - hardly any crowds! The bamboo raft costs just 10 yuan for 20 minutes of pure relaxation. 🍃 Dongnayu Bay Filming location for "The Journey of Flower". Beautiful scenery with 30-minute boat ride + 3km island hike. End with drinks at the Cave Coffee. 🍃 Mingshi Pastoral You'll automatically hum Jay Chou's "Rice Field" here. Rent a bike to cycle through karst landscapes surrounded by endless rice fields, then enjoy coffee in the paddies. Every shot here is postcard-perfect! . 🍜 Food ✨ Famous dishes: Roast suckling pig, passion fruit ribs, Vietnamese pho, spring rolls (though I found them just okay 😂) 👉Tips: 1⃣️ Guangxi is humid whether sunny or not - wear quick-dry clothes and comfortable shoes 2⃣️ Bring hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen - UV rays are strong 3⃣️ Don't forget mosquito repellent - lots of mosquitoes 4⃣️ Chongzuo's attractions are scattered - recommend self-driving or private car (we rented after taking HSR to Nanning) 5⃣️ Poor signal at Tongling Grand Canyon - not ideal for drones. Detian bans drones. 6⃣️ Guangdong ID holders get 50% off at Detian Waterfall and free entry to Dongnayu Bay
