Kowloon Walled City Light and Shadow Journey: Movie Scene Exhibition

Kowloon Walled City Park has recently transformed into its predecessor, the Kowloon Walled City! Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a large signboard that reads "Kowloon Walled City," illuminated by neon lights that exude a nostalgic charm, instantly transporting you back to old Hong Kong. The exhibition has turned the former yamen into a vintage street, lined with old-style shops and signboards. The walls are adorned with yellowed posters and handwritten notes, while bicycles and grocery stalls vividly recreate scenes from the movie "The Kowloon Walled City Siege." The attention to detail is impeccable, from the bricks on the ground to the curtains at the shop entrances, all brimming with character. Venturing further inside, you'll find a small shop labeled "Seven Kee Ice Room." The interior is designed to resemble the ice room from the movie, featuring old posters on the walls, retro canned goods and miscellaneous items on the counter, and even a fish tank with a large fish and colorful decorations, adding a playful touch! Visitors can pretend to sit and enjoy the movie's iconic char siu rice, immersing themselves in the role of the protagonist. The exhibition also includes other movie-inspired scenes, such as the alleys of the Walled City, convenience stores, dental clinics, barber shops, and food factories. All of them are perfect for photo opportunities! The exhibition's design is truly thoughtful, not only in its realistic scenes but also in the meticulous details. For instance, the text on the old signboards is authentically replicated, and bicycles with bags of goods are placed at shop entrances, as if someone might ride off to deliver them at any moment. This exhibition is truly unforgettable, offering not only a glimpse into the allure of cinema but also a nostalgic journey through the essence of old Hong Kong life.
