Iksan City's famous restaurant, Tomare Noodle Factory

Tomare Seimenso, located in Mohyeon-dong, Iksan-si, is said to be famous among students. It specializes in udon and soba, and since it is homemade, the noodles are thick and it takes a while for the food to come out, but it was worth the wait. We ate Maze Udon, (Special) Ebiten Udon, (New Menu) Flatfish Sashimi Soba, Shiromi Hanban Katsu, and Cheese Tamago Katsu, and the portions were all really large. You can add noodles or rice for free when ordering one menu per person, but the portions were so large that we didn't add any (except for Hanayama Udon). I was curious about Hanayama Udon, but it was first-come-first-served, so we visited in the evening and couldn't eat it. Maze Soba was really delicious, but after eating a little, we added kelp vinegar, and it tasted even better. We ordered Ebien Udon as a special, and the special was two pieces of fried shrimp. It's really classic udon, but the broth was so delicious. The flatfish sashimi soba was so full of vegetables and flatfish that I had some leftover soba. It wasn't cheap, but I was satisfied. The shiromi hanppan katsu was bigger than I thought and was very crispy. It has a texture closer to fish cake katsu than fish katsu. It goes well with the moderately spicy sauce that comes with it. The cheese tamago katsu was also bigger than I thought, but the tamago inside was so soft. It comes with the same sauce as the hanppan katsu, but since it's fried food, it can get a little chewy as you eat it, but it goes well when you dip it then. I went around 7pm on Sunday and waited for about 3 groups in front of me to go in. The side dishes were all delicious, and there was also a hot broth, which was delicious. If you add KakaoTalk, you can get ice cream or coffee for free, and the ice cream was really chewy and delicious. The portions are large and the taste is good, so it seems like a place worth waiting for.
