Fuji-san Mishima Tokyu Hotel - Superior Twin Room

On the third day of my 3-night, 4-day Tokyo trip, I stayed at the Fuji-san Mishima Tokyu Hotel, located in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The hotel is conveniently situated near a Shinkansen stop and offers bus access to Kawaguchiko, making it an ideal choice. I took advantage of a 50% discount event celebrating Shizuoka's re-launch and changed my reservation from a Shinjuku hotel to this one about a week before departure. Normally, I rarely change hotel reservations once made, but this time, I benefited from both a more convenient itinerary and cost savings. Tokyu Hotels, along with Prince Hotels and Okura Hotels, are among Japan's leading hotel chains, and I have stayed at various Tokyu properties across the country. From business-grade Tokyu Rei to the 3.5-star Excel Tokyu and the 4-star Tokyu Hotels, I’ve visited over ten locations. Earlier this year, I stayed at Kyoto Tokyu, and in March, I stayed at Mishima Tokyu. I’ve also booked Sapporo Tokyu Rei and Tokyo Bay Tokyu for May, reflecting my fondness for this Japanese hotel brand. What I particularly appreciate about Tokyu Hotels is their excellent breakfast, comfortable room conditions, prime locations, and friendly staff who embody Japanese-style hospitality (Omotenashi). These qualities make them an easy choice for me. Mishima Tokyu Hotel offers an added bonus: a large open-air bath and modern outdoor sauna facilities located on the top floor, 60 meters above ground, with a stunning view of Mount Fuji. The open-air bath, situated at the corner of the hotel, provides a view comparable to that of an observation deck. You can even watch Shinkansen trains pass by while enjoying your bath. Although the weather during my stay only allowed a partial view of Mount Fuji’s side profile, the experience was still delightful. The breakfast was a highlight, featuring freshly grilled fish prepared right in front of me, delicious white rice, and a variety of other side dishes and fruits. Truly, Tokyu’s breakfast never disappoints. Additionally, the hotel is just a 30-second walk from the bus stop for Kawaguchiko-bound buses, making it incredibly convenient. It’s also only about a 50-minute Shinkansen ride from Tokyo Station, making it a perfect choice for those who want to explore Tokyo during the day and enjoy a relaxing stay at night. Even when factoring in Shinkansen costs, this hotel outperforms many business-grade hotels in Tokyo in terms of value. Spacious rooms, excellent breakfast, and a scenic open-air bath are just the icing on the cake. Plus, starting your Kawaguchiko trip as early as 8 AM is a great advantage.
