Okinawa Shuri Castle-Visit the craftsmanship of Japan in repairing cultural relics!

In 2019 (October 31, 2019), the main building of Shuri Castle was destroyed by a fire and is currently under repair. It is still open to visitors, and Shuri Castle has been listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site. One of five castles designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the castle was built in the 13th century. It was built by Shunma Shunxi, the second monarch of Zhongshan Kingdom. Shuri Castle was destroyed many times, but each time it was reborn from the ashes. The most recent destruction was during the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. It was rebuilt in 1992 and became what it is today. The North and South Halls burned down in 2019. Currently under renovation. You can come and visit Japan's restoration project. I think Japan's renovation project is very powerful. I hope that the restored Shuri Castle will regain its former beauty. Shuri Castle has the Shuri Castle Tea Room, where you can enjoy traditional Ryukyu sweets and the "tea service" of Sanpincha.
