Nanjing Juhoji Temple: A Journey of Buddhist Culture and History

The temple was rebuilt in the fifth year of Tianshun in the Ming Dynasty (1461) and was named in commemoration of the famous monk Eagle Peak of the Tang Dynasty. The architecture of the temple is yellow-walled and tiled, red-walled, and has a well-structured three-step courtyard. There are halls such as the Tianwang Hall, the Yuantong Hall, and the Bilu Hall, and each hall houses a Buddha statue. In particular, the Yuantong Hall (Guanyin Hall) has more than 200 Guanyin statues, which is spectacular. In addition, there are landscapes and rivers around the temple, and the garden scenery is beautiful. As for how to play, you can first enter the temple's mountain gate, worship the Maitreya Buddha and the Four Heavenly Kings in the Tianwang Hall, and then pray to the Bodhisattva Guanyin in the Yuantong Hall. While strolling around the temple, you can experience historical architecture and culture. In addition, Hakuroshu Park is located near the temple, which is a great place to take a stroll and rest. Please note that it is important to stay quiet inside the temple and treat the cultural property with care. Also, there are many visitors on the first and fifteenth days of the month, so it is recommended to choose other days to avoid the crowds.
