Gai Wong Chicken King - Chicken is indeed the king, but the barbecued pork and roasted pork are just so-so

#March Good Places 2025 We recently tried the "Chicken King Gai Wong" located in Melbourne city centre and took out a 700g chicken which was amazing for dinner! The chicken is tender and juicy, full of sauce, and immediately reminiscent of the familiar and nostalgic taste of Malaysia and Singapore, definitely worthy of the name of the shop. Then we went back to lunch to try their barbecue and char siu. To be honest, as a Hong Konger, I really think the standard is average, the taste is not bad, but it is really far worse than the barbecue in Hong Kong. In truth, Hong Kong style is simply another level, and if you don’t agree, then it’s really your loss! Summary: The chicken is worth repurchasing, the grilled taste depends on your personal taste!
