#summervacay When in Rome, I highly recommend a visit to the Villa Medici (Villa Medicis), perched atop the Pincian Hill! From here, you can overlook the entire city of Rome – it's quite a sight. This beautiful villa has a fascinating history. After the powerful Medici family, it changed hands several times, even passing through the Lorraine family. Then, in 1803, Napoleon Bonaparte acquired it and decided it would be the permanent home for the newly established French Academy in Rome. This academy was, and still is, a prestigious institution offering French artists the chance to further their studies right here in Rome. We bought our tickets directly on the day of our visit. Do note that you must join a guided tour with a staff member. Everyone is expected to stay within a roughly 100-meter radius around the guide – no wandering off on your own! It ensures a cohesive and informative experience.
