Sigiriya Rock

A World Heritage site that Sri Lanka is proud of! I went there first thing in the morning to see the sunrise. I didn't visit during the day so I can't compare, but it seems like it's less crowded in the early morning. However, you might be able to take a nice photo from the front in the afternoon. When I tried to take a photo from the front after seeing the sunrise, it was backlit. The summit is at the top of 1200 steps, but I was able to reach the top surprisingly quickly. Even if you don't rush and climb slowly, it should take about 30 minutes each way. The ruins of the royal palace are also interesting.
