Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines

For museum enthusiasts, visiting the National Palace Museum is a must, right? (To see the famous Three-Layered Pork Stone and the Jadeite Cabbage). However, I’d like to recommend another museum nearby called the Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines. This museum focuses on the indigenous people of the island before the Chinese arrived and became what we now know as Taiwanese! (I just learned about this, and it’s so fascinating). There were many tribes, and some even practiced the culture of headhunting! The museum is excellently curated, with engaging content. Plus, it’s much quieter and less crowded compared to the renowned National Palace Museum.
