[Mitaka] Ghibli Museum

It's a 5-minute bus ride from Mitaka Station. It's about a 15-minute walk from either Mitaka Station or Kichijoji Station. Totoro greets you at the reception desk at the entrance, but the actual reception is a little further down the road. You get a film-made screening ticket at the reception desk. You can take photos outside, but not inside the building. There are lockers. You can leave your meal at either the inside of the store, called "Straw Hat," or at the counter outside. The items sold are different. There is a long queue. You can bring your own food, but the inside of the store and the terrace seats outside get crowded at lunchtime. Only children are allowed on the Cat Bus, and you have to wait 5 to 30 minutes for each ride, but in the evening the wait is usually around 10 minutes. Kids want to ride it over and over, so it's an endless loop. We distract them by saying, "There's a Giant God Warrior up there!" The Saturn Theater is a mini theater that runs about 3 times an hour and the screening time is about 15 minutes. I got there right before the screening time, so the next screening was already done, so I was there right before the screening time. The movie was "The Day I Bought a Star" and it was really good. I personally thought the "Birthplace of Film" in the permanent exhibition room was worth seeing, but small children don't even look at it. #TokyoTrip #MitakaGhibliArt #Ghibli
