During Qingming, I escaped the crowds and stumbled upon an authentic ancient village

I enjoy galloping on the road, experiencing the journey through myriad rivers and mountains, and the local customs and cultures. You can never predict whether the trials you face will lead you to muddy bumps or a rainbow after the rain! 🗺️ Itinerary The original plan was to drive from Shanghai to Jingdezhen, staying one night in Wuyuan's Huangling to see the rapeseed flowers and eat beef bone noodles before heading to Jingdezhen. However, as the rain god seems to have taken a liking to me, ever since I arrived in Jiangxi, thunderstorms have been relentless, forcing me to alter my route: Wuyuan Huangling — Wangkou Village — Likeng — Jingdezhen 📢 Attraction Introduction: ✅ Wangkou Village — Named for its location at the confluence of two rivers, with clear waters in front of the village, hence 'Wangkou' (meaning 'pond mouth'). The first settlers were descendants of Qi, with the village also known as 'Yongchuan' due to its long and flowing history. It is an ancient Huizhou village predominantly inhabited by the Yu clan. The village's unique architectural style, superb craftsmanship, and high cultural taste make Wangkou an exhibition garden of masterpieces of ancient Chinese folk architecture. It is not overly commercialized and retains the original simplicity of the local customs, highly recommended❗️ ⏱️ Duration of Visit: About 2 hours 🎫 Ticket Information: Single attraction adult ticket 55 yuan, children and the elderly free (also available: 5-day pass for 11 attractions 180 yuan) ⏰ Opening Hours: 07:30-17:00 Attraction Address: Wangkou Village, Jiangwan Town, Wuyuan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province 🅿️ Parking Information: There is a small fee-based parking lot at the main entrance of the scenic area (free parking at the rear entrance, which also grants free admission 😁) ✅ Likeng — Likeng is an ancient village mainly inhabited by the Li clan, and is the closest scenic area to the county town on the Wuyuan eastern route. After spring, the hills are covered with golden yellow. There are many Huizhou-style buildings along the banks of the village streams. Climbing the hill along the path behind the village, you can overlook the entire view of Likeng. The guesthouse is pure white, quite photogenic. The guesthouse also has its own cafe and parking lot, perfect for a lazy afternoon tea when you don't feel like going out. 🥗 Dining Recommendation: Lunch was at 👉 'Home Sweet Home' Farmhouse Not particularly recommended but worth a try, the fresh bamboo shoots were indeed tender, and the landlady was very enthusiastic; Dinner was the internet-famous 👉 Fan's Beef Bone Noodles Not expensive, quite spicy, but lacking the fragrance of beef, not as amazing as imagined, just average. ⚠️ Notes: 1️⃣ The local Jiangxi cuisine is not as spicy as rumored, I found it rather mild; 2️⃣ Remember to enter Wangkou Village through the back door to avoid paying for a ticket; 3️⃣ It's best to visit Likeng in March or April, skip it during the summer as it often gets flooded; 4️⃣ If you have time for a longer visit, consider buying a combo ticket, otherwise visiting just one spot is enough.
