The scenery is breathtaking

Misty green mountains, white walls brushed by the wind - this is Wuyuan Huangling I was instantly captivated during my first visit to Huangling in Wuyuan. Waking up to open the window revealed mist-shrouded green mountains right before my eyes, with the white-walled Hui-style architecture faintly visible through the morning fog, as if stepping into an ink painting. Huangling is most famous for its "Sun-Drying Autumn" tradition. From September to November each year, every household sun-dries crops like chili peppers, corn, and pumpkins in front of their homes, creating a spectacularly colorful scene. The best time for photography is 6-7 AM when the light is soft and the morning mist still lingers. The village preserves complete Hui-style architectural complexes, featuring distinctive horse-head walls, small black tiles, and carved doors/windows. Must-visit spots include Huangling Ancient Village, Sun-Drying Autumn Homes, and Huangling Terraces. The terraces are particularly breathtaking - their layered fields appearing and disappearing in the clouds will leave you breathless. For food, don't miss local farmhouse dishes like free-range chicken soup, bamboo shoots with cured pork, and thick tofu. I recommend "Huangling Family Restaurant" for authentic flavors at reasonable prices. Accommodation options include village homestays. I stayed at "Huangling Sun-Drying Autumn Homestay" with rooms facing the terraces - waking up to sunrise views from bed was incredibly soothing. Prices range from 300-500 yuan; book early during peak seasons. Tips: 1. Best visiting seasons: September-November for Sun-Drying Autumn and March-April for rapeseed flowers 2. Stay overnight for the most beautiful morning/evening views 3. Wear comfortable shoes as the village has stone-paved paths 4. Bring your camera - every shot looks professional Huangling's beauty is beyond words - you must experience it firsthand.
