The predecessor of Yilan Literature Museum was the principal's dormitory of the old agricultural school built in 1926. After renovation, it became the Yilan Music Museum. In 2011, it was renamed the Yilan Literature Museum and was declared a historical building in 2001. The Literature Museum is also a building in the Yilan Administration Memorial Hall historical building complex, with the purpose of preserving and innovating Yilan literature.
