🌊 A landmark that is very popular on Nusa Penida Island, a limestone cliff with water trapped in the rocks and eroded into a gap between the cliffs, becoming a small saltwater pool or Infinity Pool. We traveled in the morning after the rain had just stopped. The sky was still dark. The waves were strong, hitting the shore before breaking into high foam waves that covered our heads, making us stand and watch with great pleasure. Seeing the beautiful water color of nature, the waves crashing hard until we received water mist, very comfortable. The good fortune of those traveling in the morning is that there are fewer people, making it convenient to take pictures. And we were very surprised when we took the car out in the late morning, there was a traffic jam. One of its most famous attractions is Angel's Billabong, on the west coast of the island. A 'billabong' is a part of a river that forms a stagnant pool. This billabong is named 'Angel's Billabong' as local legend has it that an angel once came to bathe in it. You may think of this as a natural infinity pool that washes out into the sea, and is intimidating yet super beautiful at the same time. It is possible to swim in the rock pool here, but be extra careful as the rock formations are steep and sharp, and the waves can be unforgiving during high tide - accidents have happened before. If you're not a daredevil, admiring the formations and scenery are enough! Don't forget to take lots of Instagrammable pictures. Tips for visiting Angel's Billabong: 1. The best time to view and take a picture is during low tide, usually before 2 pm and do not enter the site during high tide when waves are crashing over the edge. How to get here: you can reach this place by making your arrangement or joining the tour. I take the public ferry from Padang Bai to Nusa Penida. Upon reaching Nusa Penida, I hire a local tour guide with a motorbike or scooter for a day. There are many local guy in the jetty station for hire with their motorbike. They are the best because they are local and know how to get there. It would be best to bargain for the price before starting the journey. We got so lucky that we saw all the rare sea animals like manta, sea turtles and nemo. We got a very welcoming and super gurading captain who is watching all the time for our safety in the ocean. Overall Route: Bali - Nusa Penida - Surabaya, Malaysia to Indonesia 1⃣️We took a flight to Bali at 4pm on Dec 1. We hired a driver in Bali, who took us to get a SIM card. The driver said it would be cheaper than the airport, but it cost us over RMB 100, which didn't seem cheap. The best way is to buy it on Taobao in advance. We got the SIM card after 5pm, and the driver was going to take us to Seminyak to watch the sunset. However, the weather was bad that day, and it would take more than an hour to get to the beach, so we didn't go. We just walked around nearby, had dinner, and went back to the hotel. 2⃣️On Dec 2, we took a taxi to the pier (cash) and took a boat to Nusa Penida (the driver helped us buy the boat tickets on Dec 1, which cost about IDR 140,000). The boat ride took about 3 hours, and we set off at 8am. When we arrived at Nusa Penida, we hired a driver to take us to 3–4 attractions. We took a boat back to Bali at around 5pm, and the driver picked us up and took us to dinner and back to the hotel. The entrance fee to Diamond Beach was IDR 140,000. 3⃣️On Dec 3, the driver picked us up at around 8am to go to Lovina to see dolphins. We finished at around 11am, checked out of the hotel at around 11:30am, and headed to the airport to fly to Surabaya. The drive to the airport took about 3 hours. It took another 3 hours to get from Surabaya Airport to our hotel, and we arrived at the hotel at around 10pm. (The driver on Dec 1 and 3 was the same, and the cost was IDR 1,600,000, 16 red notes.
