However, you cannot touch or borrow the books. You can only enjoy the beautiful building. Due to its popularity on Instagram, there is a long line shortly after opening hours. The interior is not very large, so it is recommended to visit early at the opening. There is an admission fee, but the satisfaction level is high. I personally think the Austrian National Library is the most beautiful library I've visited in Europe. It is part of the Hofburg Palace and houses many priceless books. The current entrance fee is 10 euros per person. Once inside, you'll feel like you're in a European aristocratic library, reminiscent of the library scenes from Harry Potter. The entire atmosphere is very high-end and sophisticated, making it well worth a visit.

This is a very magnificent library, which kinds of make me feel like I’ve walked into Harry Potters’s world. There were lots of book in this library. However, €10 for the ticket seems to be very overpriced even though it’s a great experience This fabulous library is in the State Hall which has a different, much smaller entrance, than that signposted "Osterreichische Nationalbibliotek" on the outside of the Hofburg Imperial Palace fronting Heldenplatz. Entry cost was EUR8-00 for seniors and EUR10-00 for adults. There were a number of stairs to be negotiated before gaining entry to the library which was on the first floor. The State Hall was built between 1723 and 1726 on the orders of Emperor Charles VI. The State Hall today hosts over 200,000 books, many leatherbound, dating from 1501 to 1850. These are housed in a spectacularly ornate hall which is over 77 metres long, 14 metres wide and nearly 20 metres high. In the middle section of the Hall there is a large richly frescoed cupola under which sits a statue of Emperor Charles VI. The ceilings are also beautifully frescoed and there are masses of gilded woodwork. The books are on two levels with beautifully carved wooden staircases between them and a wonderful curved balustrade surrounding the top level. There are also huge ladders at regular intervals to reach the books on the upper shelves on each level. There are also secret rooms, where the bookshelves open, and reading spaces.#Travelvienna

Vienna is compactly packed with tourist attractions, but there are so many highlights that it can be quite demanding. "Vienna State Opera" Currently known as the Vienna State Opera, it hosts opera and ballet performances, as well as the famous Opera Ball. "Hofburg Palace" A historic and beautiful palace used during the peak of the Habsburg dynasty. The parts open to the public include the Silver Collection Museum, the Albertina Museum, and the Austrian National Library. Outside, there are horse-drawn carriages for tourists. While all of these are famous, my personal favorite is the "Sisi Museum." "Sisi Museum" This facility showcases the life and times of Empress Elisabeth (Sisi) of Austria. It displays her personal belongings, clothing, letters, and portraits. Highlights include luxurious embroidered furnishings and beauty tools she used to maintain her stunning looks. Additionally, you can find records of her travels across Europe, allowing visitors to experience Sisi's mysterious life. "Parliament Building" The Parliament Building, resembling a Greek temple, is also quite beautiful. "Vienna City Hall" At night, it is beautifully illuminated. Preparations for the Christmas market were underway. Vienna's nights are glamorous and absolutely enchanting!

After taking a break, we headed to the Hofburg Palace grounds to visit the "World's Most Beautiful Library" and the Austrian National Library, which is said to have inspired "Beauty and the Beast." Well, it felt very typical of traveling abroad. The library is filled with an incredible number of books stacked all the way up to the ceiling. Just a short walk away, the Austrian National Library wowed with its dramatic baroque ceilings, towering shelves, and quiet grandeur. After lunch, I visited St. Stephen’s Cathedral, where the interior was beautifully lit with candles and the tower climb offered sweeping views over snow-dusted rooftops. Later, I took a guided tour of the Vienna State Opera — red velvet, golden balconies, and a history echoing with Mozart and Mahler. Before sunset, I made a fun detour to Madame Tussauds, where I posed with wax icons from Sisi to Einstein. Just steps away, I boarded the historic Giant Ferris Wheel (Wiener Riesenrad) at the Prater and as it slowly turned above the city, Vienna lit up below in a snowy twilight glow. To end the day, I made my way to the elegant Belvedere Palace. Inside, I stood in awe before Klimt’s The Kiss, glowing with golden warmth. The chilly gardens were beautifully serene. Next door, I explored Tiergarten Schönbrunn, the world’s oldest zoo. Even in winter, it was full of life — pandas munching bamboo, seals diving into icy pools, and a warm rainforest dome that made me forget the cold entirely. Vienna in winter has it all — elegance, coziness, art, history, and even a few surprises. The shop is spacious, so I think the turnover rate is good. The Sachertorte wasn't too sweet, had a strong berry flavor, and was delicious without being too heavy! The other rice dishes looked delicious too✨ The interior of Cafe Central is like a church, so we had a very elegant time. There was also live piano music.
