12-Day Vienna & Budapest 💰60K Itinerary + Super In-depth Guide
⚠️Because I have elderly parents at home and cannot walk for too long, I only have about 4 itineraries a day, so if you want a more rushed itinerary, you can squeeze in a little more! !
I specially arranged a trip to Europe for the Chinese New Year in February this year.
Because I didn't buy the ticket in advance, a direct flight from Taiwan to Vienna costs 50K🥲
So I chose a flight to China via Budapest.
The price is around 31-35K
⚠️⚠️In the off-season, it is around 11K-15K‼ ️‼ ️It’s really cheap!
The petty bourgeoisie can consider this! Can save a lot of money! !
If the transit time is more than 8 hours, you will be given free accommodation and you can also visit China
‼ ️You still need a Taiwan Compatriot Certificate for transit‼ ️
We landed at Budapest Airport at 5am.
Budapest Airport is not as big as Vienna and there are not many planes.
After we got our luggage, we quickly passed through customs and arrived at the place where we were going to catch the bus.
⚠️⚠️There are two ways to get from Budapest Airport to the city center
1. Take the airport bus. There are two routes.
👉🏻100E is a bus that goes directly to the city center. The fare is more expensive than 200E
👉🏻200E is a bus that stops at more stations and the fare is cheaper than 100E
2. Just take a taxi! The price is a little bit expensive but still acceptable
3. Self-driving and renting a car - Many people in Europe do this and it is also recommended
4. You will see a small shuttle bus at the airport counter.
When there are enough people, we can start the trip!
Finally, because of the price, we took the 100E express route to the city.
Since we were planning to go directly to Vienna, we went directly to the train station to wait for the train and also bought some food at a nearby supermarket!
❗️The prices in Budapest will be much cheaper than in Vienna❗️
⚠️Because our flights are both in Budapest and back, we decided to go to Vienna first and then to Budapest. If you only want to visit Budapest, you can start your day trip!
If you don't take the train often, you don't need to buy a pass when traveling in various European countries. Here I recommend a private train called "Regiojet". The tickets for this train are much cheaper than those of ordinary state-owned railways. The train is very new.
This time I went to Vienna and took the Regiojet train to Vienna.
The journey took about 2-3 hours. We ate food purchased from a supermarket in Budapest on the bus.
After arriving in Vienna at around 2pm, we checked into AIRBNB
Since Europe is expensive, we decided to cook breakfast and dinner at home and eat lunch out.
Vienna Day 1
After we put our luggage in the hotel and sorted it out, we arrived.
👉🏻Austrian National Library
This is an incredibly beautiful library! !
It’s okay if you don’t buy a ticket, you can go in and take some photos!
Next we came to
👉🏻Carl Church
If you want to see churches in Europe, you can say that each one is more beautiful than the other!
The church is free to enter, you can go in and have a look!
I was very tired because I arrived on the first day, so I finished two trips.
We went to the supermarket to buy food, returned to the hotel to cook dinner, and went to bed early.
Vienna Day 2
👉🏻Pandorf Designer Outlet
It is said that you must visit outlet stores when you come to Europe
So I booked a shuttle bus to and from the Outlet online.
We spent almost a whole day there.
Is it cheap? It is really cheap!
But compared to France and Italy, there are not many expensive big brands.
Just consider whether you want to go or not.
Vienna Day 3
One-day tour in Europe - Hallstatt, the most beautiful town
On this day, I signed up for a local group tour online.
This one-day tour itinerary 👇🏻
Hallstatt + Salzburg
Seriously recommend to everyone who comes to Vienna
You must visit Hallstatt and Salzburg! !
Hallstatt is indeed the most beautiful town in Europe. It looks beautiful no matter how you take photos.
❗️But the prices are really high. Eating in a small town will make you unable to buy anything❗️
Salzburg - Mozart's birthplace, Mozart's things are everywhere
I recommend you to visit the house where Mozart was born.
Maybe you can also try the Mozart chocolate balls
Every store sells this stuff in a different flavor!
But it's expensive, one costs 2 euros🥹
Vienna Day 4
❗️Vienna has convenient transportation. Take the subway more than 4 times a day and buy a one-day or multi-day ticket
👉🏻 Schönbrunn Palace 👉🏻 Vienna City Hall 👉🏻 Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna
👉🏻Hofburg👉🏻Café Central👉🏻Graben Street👉🏻St. Stephen's Cathedral
👉🏻St. Peter's Church in Vienna
The attractions for this day are not far away and are all nearby. You can buy the Vienna Pass or tickets for several attractions online first. Sometimes there will be discounts on the official website!
Each museum is really beautiful! I especially recommend Schönbrunn Palace! !
You can take photos at the Central Cafe even if you don't go in to drink coffee. It's nice but crowded❗️
Graben Street is a street in Vienna. It is really beautiful.
The two churches behind are a few minutes' walk away.
You must go and see it! ! ! The first building is really majestic!
The decoration inside is spectacular! ! !
The second one happened to be in the middle of a worship service and we also followed along to listen to the hymns☺️
Vienna Day 5
Today we are going to transfer back to Budapest
So we got up early in the morning and bought some Vienna souvenirs in a nearby store.
This time we took the Flix bus, which is a passenger bus between Europe.
Probably like Tonglian Guoguang, the price is not expensive~
Arrived in Budapest around 2:00 p.m.
After checking into Airbnb, this time we stayed right opposite the Hungarian Parliament!
Therefore, I can see Daxia every time I go out! The night is so beautiful!
👉🏻Freedom Square👉🏻Ruin Bar
Ruin bars are a famous area in Budapest.
Every store here looks like a ruin, but it's a working bar.
Recommended. Check it out here. Drinking is also a good choice.
You can meet people from many different countries!
Budapest Day 1
👉🏻Fisherman's Bastion👉🏻Budapest Cable Car👉🏻Buda Castle👉🏻Matthias Church
👉🏻Hungarian National Gallery👉🏻Hungarian History Museum
⚠️When traveling in Budapest, it is recommended to buy the Budapest pass
This card has 24, 36, 72, and 96 hours.
Because this card allows unlimited rides on various modes of transportation in Budapest and free visits to all government museums, etc.!
If you are not interested in the museum, you can just buy a transportation card!
❗️Fisherman's Bastion and Buda Castle are must-see itineraries. Overlooking the entire Budapest is really super beautiful. Then take the Budapest Mountain Cable Car down, which is also very nice!
Budapest Day 2
👉🏻Hungarian Parliament Building👉🏻Shoes on the Danube River👉🏻Szechenyi Chain Bridge
👉🏻St. Stephen's Basilica👉🏻Dohany Street Synagogue👉🏻Elisabeth Bridge
The Hungarian Parliament Building recommends that you book a guided tour. There are Chinese versions, and they will take you inside for a tour. It is well worth a visit. The inside looks different from the outside, but it is still very beautiful!
Each of those bridges looks different and is worth walking up to take pictures
⚠️St. Stephen's Basilica requires a ticket to enter, but the church inside looks like
It’s super different from the outside!
Budapest Day 3
👉🏻New York Palace Cafe 👉🏻Budapest Central Market 👉🏻Rukács Spa
👉🏻Vajdahunyad Castle
New York Palace Cafe is worth a try!
Sit down and drink a cup of coffee to experience the life of medieval Europeans
Central Market: You can find all the souvenirs you want to buy here.
If you have purchased the Budapest pass, you can soak in the Rukacs Spa for free.
You really have to bring a swimsuit to experience it, it's very comfortable! !
Budapest Day 4
👉🏻Budapest Art Hall👉🏻Budapest Museum of Fine Arts
👉🏻Hungarian National Museum
I am quite interested in the museum and I have bought a pass
It's free to watch. It's a waste not to watch it.
There are only three days on this day, and the rest of the time is used to buy souvenirs
Because I'm leaving on a flight back the next day.
⚠️If you have purchased the Budapest Pass, remember to take a Danube cruise!
Each card can only be used for one free ride! Sitting on the boat and watching the Congress at night
The atmosphere is really beautiful! ! !
⚠️ Conclusion
In Europe, we recommend that you do the same as us if you want to save money
Just cook your own breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and eat lunch out!
If you take transportation frequently, buy a pass to save money! !
If you come during the off-season, the total cost will be at least around 45K!
Budapest and Vienna are really suitable countries for traveling
If you have more time, you can also go to Slovakia.
You will find that its prices are cheaper than Budapest🤯‼ ️
