Dazaifu + Yanagawa | A one-day tour guide to the suburbs of Fukuoka 🚋🎎 Eat 340-year-old steamed eel shop + Ichiran limited ramen 🍜
A super popular one-day tour combination in the suburbs of Fukuoka: "Yanagawa Water Village" + "Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine" 🛶⛩️
We bought a sightseeing package this time, it only cost 3340 yen~
You can travel back and forth from Fukuoka Tenjin Station to Yanagawa/Dazaifu
It also includes transportation between Yanagawa and Dazaifu, which is very cost-effective and convenient~💡
☀️【Morning】Yanagawa|Sightseeing by boat + Eel rice
Take a sightseeing package from Tenjin and visit Yanagawa first~
The most famous thing here is to take a boat tour on the river.
After getting off the train, you can take a bus or shuttle bus to the ferry destination.
You need to queue up to take the boat. We waited for about 30 minutes that day.
Pointy sun hats are available on site for you to pick up, very unique!
Just put it back after getting off the boat, very considerate~
We went there in April and the weather was not hot, so the boat ride was super comfortable!
The boat slowly moved forward, passing through the low ancient bridge, with old houses and green shades on both sides🍃
The pictures are so beautiful that it feels like traveling back to the old Japan📸
🍽️ Lunch recommendation|Honjiya Centennial Eel Rice
Just a few steps after getting off the boat is "Benjiya"🍱
This is a long-established eel restaurant with a history of over 340 years.
He is also the inventor of "steamed eel rice"!
We arrived at 1:30 pm on Saturday and there was no need to queue ✨
🛕【Afternoon】Dazaifu|Visiting the God of Learning
After Yanagawa, we headed to Dazaifu.
This is one of the most famous shrine attractions in Fukuoka, and it is also a place where many students come to pray for good luck in exams and academic success!
✨ As soon as you enter the sandao, there are many unique shops that are very attractive
The must-try is the plum cake, and the extra-strong matcha is also very good!
🚶♀️Walk to the end and you will see the main hall of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine
You can come here to ask for amulets, draw lots, walk slowly and take pictures
🍜 Dinner recommendation|Dazaifu Ichiran
When you come to Dazaifu, besides visiting Tenmangu Shrine, there is another thing you must do, which is to eat this bowl of "Five-corner bowl Ichiran" that can only be eaten here in Japan🍜
✔ Pentagonal bowl
✔ 59cm long noodles, twice as long as normal noodles!
They all symbolize passing the test, wishing students to be admitted to the school they want to go to📚
There is almost always a queue here during lunch time (there are so many people!)
But we went to eat at 6pm that day, so we didn't have to queue at all~
So it would be best if you can arrange to visit Dazaifu and then have dinner there!
The one-day itinerary is fulfilling and healing. Save this article and follow this route next time you come to Fukuoka❤️
