Consumer Guide • Tickets: Adult tickets are 95 yuan/person, which can be purchased in advance on major travel apps for a few yuan cheaper; children, students, and the elderly have discounted tickets at 49 yuan/person; people over 70 years old and children under 1.2 meters are free of charge. • Activities: Zipline 50 yuan/person, cliff swing 80-100 yuan/person, via ferrata 120-150 yuan/person. • Food: The prices of food and water in the scenic area are relatively high, water is 10 yuan/bottle, drinks are 15 yuan/bottle, and grilled sausage is 10 yuan/stick. It is recommended to bring some snacks and water with you. There are restaurants at the foot of the mountain and near the scenic area. The average consumption per person is 30-50 yuan, and you can taste local specialties such as blood duck and Dongjiang fish. 3. Accommodation Recommendations • Gaoyiling Village: It is close to the scenic area, with convenient transportation and many homestays. The prices range from 150 to 300 yuan. Like the "Gaoyiling Shiguang B&B", the environment is beautiful, the store owner is friendly, and it also provides tour routes; the "Gaoyiling B&B" has clean and tidy rooms, high cost performance, and some room types can also see beautiful mountain views. • Chenzhou City: Rich accommodation options, convenient transportation, and a wider price range. You can find suitable accommodation in the range of RMB 100-500. If you want to live in a more cost-effective place, you can choose to live near Shengyuan Times Square. There are many hotels, it is close to places to eat, drink and have fun, and it is also convenient to go to the high-speed rail station. For example, "Huanman Hotel" offers great discounts for its new store opening, and is only a dozen minutes' drive from Gaoyiling. 4. Recommended hiking routes Enter from the west gate and exit from the west gate (the lazy route takes about 1 hour) • Route: Take a taxi to the ticket office at Yinjia West Gate of Gaoyiling, walk for 3 minutes to the entrance to buy a paper ticket (only paper tickets are supported), walk along the only road for about 20 minutes to Longjibei, and return along the original route after checking in. There are motorcycle taxis available for this section, which cost 20 yuan per person and go directly from the ticket office to Dragon's Back, but the road conditions are a bit dangerous. • Features: It allows you to quickly check in at the iconic Dragon’s Back attraction, which is suitable for tourists who are short on time or have low physical strength. There will be a friendly guy who will introduce a short route. The price we agreed on is 90 yuan (ticket) + 20 yuan (drive to Yinjia West Gate ticket office) = 110 yuan/person. After arriving at the entrance, enter with the ticket given by the guy. After arriving at Dragon's Back to take photos, continue forward, passing Bubujingxin (high-altitude glass suspension bridge), the suspended plank road, climb the ladder to the Stonehenge, and finally exit from the north gate; or after arriving at Bubujingxin, take the high-altitude zipline project opposite to go down the mountain (50 yuan/person), and then walk to the south gate or north gate to exit. • Features: It allows you to enjoy most of the beautiful scenery without being too tiring, making it suitable for most tourists. Enter from the South Gate and exit from the South Gate (full loop, takes 3-4 hours) • Route: After entering the entrance, cross the floating bridge on the right. On the right is Stonehenge. Walk to the left trail, go up the Dengyuntian Ladder, and then go up Maozi Mountain. After walking up Maozi Mountain, you will arrive at Longji Post Station. Go down the mountain on the left road. Continue walking on the right road to see Dragon Back, Monitor Lizard Lake and other attractions. • Features: You can visit the entire scenic area with the most beautiful scenery, but the journey is long and requires more physical strength. It is suitable for tourists with good physical strength and plenty of time. 5. Photo check-in point • Dragon’s Back: The iconic attraction of Gaoyiling, shaped like a dragon’s back, you can overlook the entire valley from the top and it is very photogenic. It is recommended to take photos between 4 and 6 pm when the light is soft. • Monitor Lizard Lake: The lake water is emerald green, forming a sharp contrast with the surrounding red Danxia landform. Looking down from a high vantage point, it looks like a monitor lizard lying in the mountains. Here you can take photos with the lake view and Danxia Mountain as the background. • Suspension Path: There are steep cliffs on one side and steep mountains on the other. Walking on it feels like being on top of a bottomless abyss. It is very exciting and suitable for taking cool photos. 6. Notes • Check the weather forecast in advance and try to travel on sunny days for better photo effects. Mountain roads are slippery and unsafe on rainy days. • Wear comfortable sports shoes or hiking shoes. The Gaoyiling Mountain Road is rugged and the slope is steep in some places. High heels, leather shoes, etc. are not suitable. • Take sun protection measures and bring sunscreen, a sun hat, sunglasses, etc. The vegetation on the mountain is sparse and the ultraviolet rays are strong. • Bring enough water and food. Climbing consumes a lot of energy, so replenish energy and water in time. • Some sections of the road in the scenic area are steep.
