I came to Yilan again this month! This trip was mainly to relax in Jiaoxi City, so we didn’t rent a car. This time we unlocked a new way: take a bus from Taipei City Government directly to Jiaoxi. If there is no traffic jam, it will take about 40 minutes to get there! You can go to the City Hall Transfer Station to find Capital Bus. There is no need to book tickets in advance, you can buy tickets directly at the counter or use EasyCard to swipe on the bus. There are quite a lot of buses! Wanglongpi is located in Zhenshan Village, Yuanshan Township, Yilan. It was naturally formed hundreds of years ago due to mountain floods and landslides, creating a lake with an area of about four to five hectares, in a long and narrow shape. Meihua Lake, located in De'an Village, Dongshan Township, Yilan County, Taiwan, is a natural lake surrounded by mountains on three sides. There is a 4-kilometer-long road around the lake, and if you don't feel like walking, you can rent a bicycle by the lake. Regardless of your choice, the mirror-like lake surface and the gentle breeze offer a unique charm. The Luodong Forestry Culture Park in Yilan was originally the Luodong Forestry Station for preserving timber, and it has now been transformed into an ecological park suitable for all ages. The park retains forestry facilities such as log ponds, forest railways, and locomotives. The shaded green trees and the unique shops along the abandoned railway are great for strolling.

Today we climbed the mountain from Meihua Lake to Sanqing Palace, and had a bird's eye view of the entire Meihua Lake. A leisurely walk back and forth takes about an hour. If you have more energy, you can continue to climb up to the Zhongshan Trail or the Maopucheng Ancient Trail. If you are too lazy to walk, there are various bicycles and tandem bicycles available for rent at the door.
