It was a trip to Ningxia, China 🇨🇳 During our visit to Ningxia, we were amazed by its unique desert 🏜️ landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and stunning photography spots 📸 We explored the Shapotou Desert, where the endless golden sand dunes created a breathtaking backdrop for photography 📸 We highly recommend visiting in the late afternoon when the sun ☀️ casts long shadows over the dunes, adding depth to your photos. We also tried sandboarding and a camel ride, which made for some incredible action shots. Sunset 🌇 here is absolutely magical, with the sky turning shades of pink and orange 🙌 📍Shapotou Scenic Area, Zhongwei City, Ningxia, China One of our favorite spots was the Xixia Tombs, often called the “Pyramids of China.” This ancient royal burial site, surrounded by mountains and open plains, offers a fantastic mix of history and dramatic landscapes 😍 The best time to visit is early morning ✨ when the soft sunlight highlights the ancient structures, creating a mysterious and awe-inspiring atmosphere 🙌 📍Xixia Tombs, Yinchuan City, Ningxia, China For a mix of history and stunning views, we visited the Helan Mountain ⛰️ Rock Paintings. These ancient petroglyphs, carved into the cliffs thousands of years ago, tell fascinating stories of early human civilization. We explored the area in the late morning ☀️ when the sun perfectly illuminated the rock carvings, making them stand out against the rugged mountain backdrop 💯 📍Helan Mountain Rock Paintings, Helan County, Yinchuan, Ningxia, China Another must-visit is Sand Lake, a beautiful oasis where desert meets water. The contrast between the golden dunes and the deep blue lake created one of the most striking landscapes we’ve seen 😍 We recommend visiting in the morning when the light is soft ✨ and the reflection of the sky on the water is at its best. Silver City, an oasis in the desert, is known as the "Pearl of the Frontier". It was once the capital of the Western Xia Dynasty and is famous for its unique natural scenery, rich cultural heritage, and delicious cuisine. ⛱️Must-see attractions: Drum Tower → South Gate (also known as Nanxun Gate) → Yuhuang Pavilion → Ningyuan Garden → Ziqiang Alley → South Gate Mosque → Chengtian Temple Pagoda → Lanshan Park → Huaiyuan Night Market 🌄Travel guide: 1. Drum Tower: Built in 1821, the Drum Tower has stone inscriptions on all four sides, reading "Welcome Favor" on the east, "Nanxun" on the south, "Yisuang" on the west, and "Gongji" on the north. It was the site of the first special branch of the Communist Party of China in Ningxia during the period of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party in 1926. 2. South Gate (also known as Nanxun Gate): Built in 1917, the South Gate has white walls, red pillars, and green tiles. It has two floors and a portrait of Chairman Mao on the observation platform in the middle, resembling the Tiananmen Gate in Beijing. 3. Yuhuang Pavilion: Built during the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty, Yuhuang Pavilion is the former site of the Zhongshan Daily. 4. Ningyuan Garden: Located to the west of Yuhuang Pavilion, Ningyuan Garden is a small garden with Qing Dynasty-style ancient buildings, featuring a strong Jiangnan style. 5. Ziqiang Alley: "Here is Silver City", "We love Silver City so much" wall: Many people come here to take photos with these words, which are very characteristic of the city and make for great photos! 6. South Gate Mosque: The most important old mosque in Silver City, next to the famous "Ningxia Niu Street" snack street. 7. Chengtian Temple Pagoda: Also known as the "West Pagoda", it was built by the Empress Dowager of the Western Xia Dynasty to bless Li Yuanhao's young son, Li Liangzuo. It is the only ancient Western Xia pagoda with a record of its construction date. Ticket: 10 yuan/person; Pagoda ticket: 20 yuan/person. 8. Lanshan Park: A popular sunset spot in Silver City, the ancient Roman-style open-air theater offers a beautiful view of the sunset. 9. Huaiyuan Night Market: One of the most lively places in Silver City, where you can taste a variety of delicacies, such as grilled lamb trotters, milk rice wine, lamb skewers, scallion oil pancakes, and eight-treasure tea. 🏨Accommodation guide: Lanhua Hua Hotel near the old building on Jiefang West Street, Xingqing District, Silver City 💗Other tips: The climate is dry, so drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen.

On the way out of Tibet from Lhasa, seeing the Tanggula Mountains and thinking of the origin of the Yellow River, I decided to stop by the city of Yinchuan in Ningxia Province, known as the 'Jiangnan of the Borderlands.' The civilization of the Yellow River originated here, the Western Xia Dynasty emerged from here, and its diverse topography also makes it a true 'Chinese bonsai'. 🚌 Transportation: Yinchuan has no subway, so travel is by bus and taxi. 📆 Recommended Route: Ziqiang Alley➡️Chengtian Temple Pagoda➡️Yinchuan Nanguan Mosque➡️Nanxun Gate➡️Yuhuang Pavilion➡️Yinchuan Drum Tower➡️Ningxia Museum➡️Lanshan Park➡️China-Arab Axis➡️Huaiyuan Night Market 🌤 Morning 📍 Ziqiang Alley: A street full of artistic atmosphere, with many distinctive graffiti on the walls, very suitable for young people to check in and take photos, with small pubs and tea bars nearby. 📍 Chengtian Temple Pagoda: Commonly known as the 'West Pagoda,' it is a national key cultural relic protection unit and the tallest ancient pagoda in Ningxia, with a total of 11 floors. Entrance ticket🎫10, an additional fee of 🎫20 yuan is required to climb the tower. 📍 Yinchuan Nanguan Mosque: One of the largest mosques in Yinchuan, after seeing the Nanguan Mosque in Xining🕌, you might feel it's slightly inferior. 📍 Nanxun Gate: The architectural style is very similar to Beijing's Tiananmen Gate, also known as the 'Little Tiananmen.' It is the only one of the six city gates in Ningxia that is the most completely preserved, also known as the South Gate Tower. 📍 Yuhuang Pavilion: Free to visit, with stairs inside the wall to climb the building, part of the pavilion is open. 📍 Yinchuan Drum Tower: Located right at a crossroads, allowing vehicles to drive around a large roundabout and surround it, the street to the south is called Drum Tower South Street, which is a pedestrian street found in every city. 🌕 Afternoon 📍 Ningxia Museum, reservation required, free🆓 to visit, you can borrow an audio guide for free🆓 with your ID card, luggage storage is also free🆓, personally I think the second floor is the essence of the museum, it takes about 3h to browse. 📍 Lanshan Park: The best spot to watch the sunset in Yinchuan, accessible by bus 34, about 10km🛣️ from the city center (Drum Tower, Yuhuang Pavilion), 🚌1h by bus, 🚖30min by taxi, it is recommended to arrive 1h before sunset to wait for the sunset🌇. 🌌 Evening 📍 China-Arab Axis: Symbolizes the friendly cultural exchange and integration between China and Arab countries, about 1 km away from Lanshan Park, suitable for taking night scenes. 📍 Huaiyuan Night Market: Usually starts around 4 pm and closes at 11 pm, and may close later on holidays. 🍜 Food Recommendations: ⭐ Morning Tea: Eight Treasure Tea➕Beef Noodles is a perfect match, the crispy beef pie at the roundabout palace next to the train station is very delicious. 🌟 Lunch: The 'Old Mao Hand Grabbed' next to the Drum Tower tastes very good, the hand-grabbed lamb is fatty but not greasy, with no mutton smell. 🌟 Dinner: At Huaiyuan Night Market, egg milk dregs, sweet embryo milk tea, lamb skewers, yogurt, goji berry sprouts, and so on are all very delicious
