The gardens is well maintained and have beautiful heritage trees. It is a much needed green lung in Penang for the public to enjoy. Parking is usually limited especially during the weekends. I love this Botanical Gardens. All natural environment where monkeys and humans co-exist harmoniously. A great location to watch locals exercise and have family time. The jungle has almost swallowed up traces of civilization and made part of what once belonged to man This is probably the most impressive place in Georgetown. There are two ways to get here: rent a jeep at the top of Penang Hill and go down the steep serpentine road, or just take a taxi to the main entrance. Personally, Penang Hill did not seem impressive to me, especially after an hour-long queue for the cable car. The gift shop is very sweet—filled with handmade crafts made by volunteers. I bought a souvenir there fir my son when he visited and he loved it. You can also pick up a beverage and ice cream there.
