In the past story of Indonesia, Jakarta has been few times changes the name, from Sunda Kelapa, Jayakarta, Batavia, and Jakarta. During colonialists by Dutch, many fort built as military bastion or government building. The picture taken are one of Jamu cafe with the wall aged more than 350 years! Museum Fatahiillah famous as goverment building during Dutch colonialist. They still keep the old window, and some old layout. Acaraki is one different cafe! They served Jamu. Fatahillah Square, a symbol of Dutch colonial rule that lasted for over 350 years! There is Cafe Batavia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Cafe Batavia building was built in the 1930s. It was selected as one of the world's 100 best cafes by Newsweek magazine, and is well known as a must-visit course for foreign tourists. If you go up the wooden stairs to the second floor, you will see a wall filled with framed decorations that can be called the symbol of Cafe Batavia. On one side of the stairs, there are photos of famous people who visited the cafe, such as Indonesia's first president, Sukarno, and Queen Elizabeth of England. A cup of Indonesian coffee at a cafe that's over 100 years old! Don't miss it.

The Fatahila Square in the old town of Jakarta is the center of the Dutch colonial city. The main building in the center of the square is the former Governor's Office. The European architecture that was built more than two hundred years ago is still well preserved. There are a large number of pigeons on the square that are not afraid of people. There are bicycle rentals on the street. The bicycles are a cartoon color with big wheels. When riding up, the stall owner will also attach a big straw hat of the same cartoon color.  The tourists who come and go, the local men who sell the ice water, the special food stalls all make up the charming temperament of the old city. If you feel tired, you can go to a coffee shop. Café Batavia is a good coffee shop that gave me a nostalgic feeling. Going in is like stepping into an old Hollywood movie. They have juice, coffee, snacks and afternoon tea time that is very enjoyable.

Jakarta, a high-rise building, has been built since the 15th century and was conquered by the Dutch in 1619. Even today, there is a strong Dutch colonial city charm, and the pattern is clear. The former Governors Office of the Dutch East India Company has now become the Indonesian Historical Memorial Museum. Fatahillah Square is a square in the Kota district in the north of Jakarta, and is located in an area where many historical buildings from the Batavian period under Dutch rule remain. The square also has many colorfully painted retro bicycles lined up, and many people rent them and enjoy playing in the square. There are also many street performers. There are also many shops and food stalls around the square, and the most famous is Cafe Batavia. It is located right in front of the square. The place reminds you of Old Europe, from the buildings to the cobble stone streets. I was told by my tour guide that this place used to be the place where the Dutch built there government when they colonized Indonesia. There are two museums in the area, Puppet Museum and the Museum showcasing the Old City hall with Jails found underneath the building. A lot of people visit this place, you might feel it is too crowded. The square fronting it is free for everyone, you can rent bikes or even just walk around. Entrance to the CIty hall will cost you 5,000 RP and you can even bring in your camera (DSLR or polaroid) inside. There are many restaurants around the area plus a small picnic area inside the City hall where you can rest and eat a meal that you bought outside. A small souvenir shop may also be found in the City hall and the famous Batavia Cafe is located infront of it. #urbanexplorer
