The mood and vibe is set amid palm trees, the white-washed rattan furniture, hand-painted upholstery and Siamese umbrellas create a soothing and serene ambiance. Highlights - The Author's Lounge offers a selection of afternoon tea with homemade scones, sandwiches or sweets. You may also try pairing it with any of the Anais cakes like 'Exotic' or 'Sublime' which are as filling as they are tempting. Classical gorgeous green and white decor with simple ornate furniture, and transparent floor-to-ceiling glass, it is like being in the Victorian era. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel is the oldest five-star hotel in Bangkok. Since its opening, it has been hosting high-ranking officials and celebrities from all over the world. Even Princess Diana has visited. With a history of more than 130 years since its opening in 1887, the classical and gorgeous green and white decor is a great enjoyment just sitting there.
