When we arrived at the entrance/lobby of the hotel we were pleased with what we saw already, a very quaint environment that we would enjoy. More the the beautiful facilities and the guestrooms, I must say that the service here tops it all. The Temple House Chengdu is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in when it comes to service! The attention to detail and their guests service is top class. From the moments we checked until we checked out, it was nothing but just pleasant. The room that we had was massive which is fully equipped with everything that you need and want from a luxury hotel. They even welcomed us with anniversary gifts in our room and all the staff was very welcoming. We stayed there for two nights and had dinner at Tivano and our experience was PERFECT. They made sure that our wedding anniversary at their hotel would be an unforgettable one and to be honest it was indeed an experience that tops it all.. It is conveniently located in the middle of Tai Koo Li so guests can enjoy shopping around the area since it is a fancy and high end shopping area in Chengdu. Designed by renowned designer David Hardy, this hotel combines traditional and modern elements to create a unique ambience. Temple House is part of the famous House Collection, which also owns other branches in China, such as The Opposite House in Beijing and The Middle House in Shanghai. The hotel's location is perfect, located in the bustling Taikoo Li. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite when we checked in. The room feels very homely and the decoration style is very comfortable to live in. I especially like the high-end atmosphere of the bathroom, which makes people feel relaxed. In terms of service, apart from the reception at check-in, there was not much presence at other times. Overall, The Temple House is the ceiling in Chengdu in terms of experience and price. However, if this level of service is placed in other cities, such as Shanghai, it may be less competitive (based only on this stay experience). In addition, except for the suites, other room types feel too "open". I personally prefer small and square bedrooms and don't like this design very much.

The strawberries were still covered with water droplets, and a small card next to them read "Freshly picked from the kitchen." Welcome fruits sat on the coffee table - apples polished to a waxy sheen and bananas curved just so, clearly carefully selected. At night, I stood by the window watching Chengdu's lights. Though situated in the bustling downtown, Temple House strives to create an atmosphere of "urban seclusion." The thick window panes filtered out most of the city noise, leaving only a distant hum. These expensive windows effectively blocked out the urban clamor, but also sealed away the authentic pulse of city life. The next morning at breakfast, the restaurant displayed an impressive array of both Chinese and Western dishes, plated so exquisitely one almost felt guilty disturbing them. At a nearby table, a young couple sat - the wife complaining about some sauce's authenticity while her husband nodded absently, eyes fixed on his phone. A server stood nearby, maintaining that measured smile, though the fatigue in her eyes had deepened. After breakfast, I wandered through the hotel and found a space labeled as a "cultural area" - essentially a shop selling overpriced crafts and books. The shelves held pristine hardcovers, mostly biographies and self-help books, their spines gleaming gold but showing little sign of use. A guest briefly picked up a book, quickly set it down, apparently uninterested, and moved on to examine the startlingly expensive tea sets. The rooftop pool's water was an unnaturally perfect blue. Several guests sunbathed poolside, their skin already lobster-red, yet still diligently applying tanning oil. Their poses resembled a solemn ritual - as if making offerings to the sun god. During checkout, the front desk asked about my stay. I said it was fine, though privately thinking how exhausting such a meticulously calculated place was, where even guest smiles seemed pre-designed. They offered me a membership card for room upgrades on future visits. I thanked them and pocketed it, knowing it would end up with other expired promo codes. Stepping out of Temple House, the city's sounds rushed in - vendors calling out, car horns honking, the buzz of pedestrian chatter - suddenly feeling wonderfully familiar.
