Humphreys Restaurant

The scenery inside is quite nice, the steak is delicious, and the lamb chops are also quite good. The lamb chops are very big and the meat is very delicate. I like them very much. There is a pier outside and the scenery is really first-class.

I stayed at the hotel and decided to eat locally on my last night in town. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was Very good. Fresh rolls. Good size portions and not run of the mill.

My partner and I stayed in San Marcos, San Diego for 3 weeks and stayed at Humphretys for the last 2 days of our stay. We decided to dine at the Half Moon Hotel restaurant when the restaurant was closed. We were served by Jackie, who was a very sweet and funny server and made the experience great. The food was decent enough, (I had a bit of an upset tummy) so I was 100% there. But I had a good meal. Jackie was attentive, (although not very pushy). The atmosphere was also good, the music was decent and the conversation was relaxed. Jackie is a very nice lady and we enjoyed our conversation, she listened, joined in and enjoyed what we had to say. The next night we ate there again and Peggy came and was also attentive and funny, and the following lunch time as was Anne. The whole dining experience was very good. If the food and selection were good this would be a 5 star, not a four (or no staff), maybe a three. This proves that the staff made the dining experience most of the time. I'm not one to be negative, but maybe humphretys should check the food selection.

We had a meeting at this hotel and then everyone had dinner here. You will find that the service here is the best in any aspect. The owner and proprietress of the restaurant are particularly friendly and helpful. The waiters are excellent. The food here is also well prepared. The lamb is made into exactly three or four cooked, plus some condiments, and it is beautifully placed. I am looking forward to coming here again next time.

Apple bread pudding with vanilla ice cream! It tastes more delicious than it sounds. I also had Jadori roast chicken as a late Thanksgiving dinner. I always enjoyed breakfast early to start the day with a peaceful coastal view. Jackie, who served me, was always pleasant and understood all I needed.
