The room was ok, but some of the area was not really clean. Breakfast included with traditional English breakfast. Overall was alright.

Not so sure about the room . Think they were busy so had an adapted room . Not keen but was clean and had what you need ; not a holiday so ok . Breakfast too was ok . Nothing special . Self selection but again plenty of items to chose from and food was replenished and tables cleared . But what does stand out about this Travel Lodge are the staff . 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Such a warm welcome from Chrissie on arrival. Lovely lady and helpful and the very delightful Doreen at breakfast . How do you do it . Impressed . Thank you .

So much wrong here. Wife & I stayed on 10/ 11 July, in Rm 10. Rm was OK, & inexpensive - £91 a night. But reception had NO chip & pin machine - staff had to fone the bookings number & talk my card down the fone. Primitive or what ? Then the door card they gave me malfunctioned & had to be continuously re-programmed. The bathroom was from the 60's - had to stand in the bath for a shower - no cold water to the shower, and the sink would not drain - mechanism jammed. Next - we asked the staff to leave the old sheets on the bed for the second night - but they didn't bother to even make up the room, so no clean towels and no shower gel. Also no air-con - just a fan. Hotel systems, bathrms, & management are in need of a complete makeover. Breakfast was advertized as, 'full English - that's fried egg, bacon, beans, etc. BUT - there was no fried egg - just scrambled. That makes it NOT a full English. Scrambled egg just doesn't cut it. Next - the dining room was like a cheap cafe, or the waiting area of a McDonald's - but, but strangely, it DID have a chip pin machine for my card. When I asked why recepton didn't have one, the reply was. 'Don't know.' Coffee from the machine was horrible. I mentioned this to one of the staff - he replied, 'I know.' The breakfast plates handed to me by the staff were stone cold. I pointed out that cold plates mean .... cold food. He did take them & heat them ... but ... how the hell is it I'm having to educate professional restauranters about what every Chinese and Thai restaurant learned fifty yrs ago - that cold plates mean cold food ?? I asked why Travelodge didn't have plate-warmers. The answer was, 'Don't know.' Jeeesus - even at home, I warm plates before serving hot food. I was gobsmacked at this level of don't know. But overall, the breakfast food was good. The one redeeming feature of the hotel was the staff - they were always pleasant & helpful. Staff 10/ 10. Hotel 5/10

The location is good 10 mins walk from the bus station which goes to every corner of the Isle of Wight, there is a Whetherspoons 5 mins walk, Tescos express also 5 mins away. During our stay the room was really hot and the small fan did nothing to help. We reported a broken bedside socket that was needed for the person in the second bed a simple fix but it wasn't fixed within our 4 days there which wasn't ideal.

The room very spacious and bed very comfortable and it had tea/ coffe making facilties in the room and also a fan was great.

I had a lovely comfortable stay here at a difficult time. The room was clean and airy with a very comfortable bed ensuring a really good nights sleep. The staff were lovely and friendly, with a special shout out to Chrissy on Reception. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she was very attentive to all of the guests coming through Reception, offering advice on places to visit during their stay and greeting everyone with a warm smile and welcome.

I have been using this hotel for many years. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the staff are second to none. Ive had very few issues while staying here and anytime one pops up, its instantly resolved by the friendly staff in reception. A special shout out to Chrissy at reception, who always makes the extra effort to make every stay enjoyable. Thank you!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Found the staff there extremely helpful and friendly so would like to mention both Chrissy and Kieran went above and beyond helping both me and my friend. Would definitely stay there again

Had a fantastic stay at the Newport Travel Hotel where the customer service was 5 Star.., From check-in to Bar Cafe and quality of room all ticked the boxes… Like to mention Chrissy, Doreen, Kieran, Lily, Sophie and Claire for making my stay more enjoyable… Thank you…

Lift broken all week, door fobs deactivating several times meaning lengthy trips to reception to get sorted. Not the best holiday stay!

Staying here now as I write this. Staff brilliant, polite, and helpful. Kieran is always welcoming and helpful. Chrissy always greets you with a smile and always helpful. All the staff are great. Rooms clean and well presented. Breakfast is brilliant with a good selection of both hot and cold items.Great location. There is a separate car park less then a minutes walk. Car park is called Britannia. £8:00 for 24 hours and it's has security cameras. This travel lodge is a must stay

Great people staffing this hotel and secure parking for your bike. Perfect base for seeing all sides of the IOW.

Couldn’t ask for a hotel with a more central location. It’s local to everything from shops, bars and restaurants. Chrissy was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She checked us in on our first night and looked after us in the bar area. Offering plenty of information of where to go and what to do. Slight criticism that there was no maid service unless you stay over 6 days, but when we needed things like toilet roll, towels and hair dryer, reception staff were more than helpful. Other staff we spoke to were all welcoming. Parking is only a few yards away on the corner of the street and charged at £8.00 for 24hrs. Thanks
