Is Aveiro worth a stop in between Porto and Lisbon?

#europetravel Porto and Lisbon are two popular travel destinations in Portugal, and are incredibly well connected: bus trips are frequent and super cheap. So I was wondering if I should drop by some other cities along the way for the sake of exploration. At last I picked Aveiro, which has the reputation of being “Venice of the Portugal”. I personally found the name over the top, because it has only a medium sized canal, which is nothing comparable to Venice. But I did manage to take some photogenic photos, which made the trip somewhat worthy. But actual view-wise, if you’re after Venice-like canals, you might wanna reconsider your choices. You might wanna take the time to take a train to Sintra instead when you’re in Lisbon.
